You need to drink water before a blood test @outlander like I did yesterday,and some of us don't have good veins.

@outlander - ouch, hun. You were dehydrated is why. Veins collapse a little when they loose volume.

I have some whopper bruises from hospital last week. And my right wrist is still very tender from the arterial line I had in (measures blood pressure in real/true form). Bloody ambos gave me a sore chest from a sternal rub. I tell you, going to hospital like I did is bloody traumatising.

@Former-Member - that's only a mini version of my 3 day hospital stay. And there's been many other stays in the last year like that. You'd think I would know better, and stay away, but I haven't always had a choice in the matter.

@Former-Member Aww, sweet sorry. The nurses and ambos were just doing their jobs. I probably haven't explained everything very well. I think this time I actually traumatised a nurse. I had to have my wrists restrained as otherwise I would have pulled out everything. I'm a bit of a fighter.

I remember clearly that something the nurse was doing was extremely painful. I was pretty much in hysterics, and because of the breathing tube, I couldn't communicate. She actually came back to me after a short while & was very apologetic. She was very sincere, and I know she didn't mean to hurt me deliberately.

@Former-Member- hospital experiences after SA aren't pretty. I have seen from both sides. I've worked in intensive care too. There is documented evidence that a lot of patients suffer secondary traumas. I'm just glad I usually don't remember much except when I'm coming around a day or two later.
