I dont know how much longer i can go on like this

@Faith-and-Hope @outlander @Sans911, its interesting what you all say about what your psych's say about being a part of these Forums.

I have had quite the opposite advice from my clinical psychologist. It was actually her who suggested that I would benefit from joining the Forums. So it was on her recommendation that I joined. She felt that because I was such a private person in real life, and simply did not talk about anything personal, that I would likely open up a bit under the anonymous conditions of a Forum. And she was right, I can talk about pretty much anything here, and know that I wont be judged for simply being me.

Outlander, I hope your pain subsides soon. Thinking of you. No more boxes ... okay?

I am similar to @Former-Member My GP was the one who put me onto the forum. We talk quite openly about me being on here and how in some circumstances (and that is more than a few) the support I have received here has infact saved my life - that is not an understatement but a very clear fact. I never talk about what I post or anyone else on here but I do talk about how wonderful everyone is, how so many people struggle with the same/similar things and that being able to talk to people who understand is actually empowering.

My pdoc is also very much in favour of me using the forums. She can also see in my circumstances that the connections I have here are what actually keep me going when I lose hope for myself.

I firmly believe that although no-one can walk in each others shoes - we can walk in each other's footsteps - and that is where the power of the forums lie - the ability to know, understand and empathise with each other - and that can only be a good thing!

There will be counsellors for and against the forums @Former-Member .... for a variety of reasons, and according to how the feel about their client.
