Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Hi @Former-Member, I'm up now too. How's your night been so far?

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Mazarita, I was exhausted and slept like a log for about 4.5 hours. Had spent a fair while on here before that trying to calm my farm, which thanks to those who jumped in I did. How are you going?

Re: Night Shift

@Former-Member, glad you got some help earlier to calm down a bit. Just catching up on the posts now. I've had about 3.5 hours sleep. Feeling okay except for aching legs from exercise in the hydrotherapy class yesterday. Maybe also from sitting at the computer too long. But really it's beyond the pale how much pain I'm getting with them at the moment. Getting test results from doc next week and also seeing a podiatrist. I can't walk for even a minute down the street at the moment without pain. Even hobbling around the flat with them. Sigh, just when I'd got my stride taking walks on the beach, which were so good for mental health. But enough of that whinging. Do you have anything planned for today?

Re: Night Shift

Go ahead a whinge @Mazarita. Sometimes it's good to get it out. I'm really sorry that you're experiencing pain with walking. It appears you've had such a rough trot with physical ailments. I would struggle so much with what you have. It must be affecting your mental health too as they are so linked to one another. I have a crazy mad day tomorrow but I'm so hoping it comes together. It's my last day to finish clean and move the last of my stuff out. I'm so over it all but am beginning to see the end in sight😊

Re: Night Shift

Thanks, @Former-Member 🙂 It will be so great once that last clean is done on the old place and you no longer have to go back to do more of that. I know how mad it can be on that last day of cleaning but at least it usually goes quickly because of that. Then you will be properly in the new place and can put your focus on creating your new home there. The physical stuff has been hard on me over time, especially when I was younger and struggling, as I always did, with being in employment. Combination of bipolar and physical illness is not that much fun. But I am a lot better these days than I was then. And mood is especially good usually in the middle of the night. 🙂
