Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

How are you all? Jeepers @eth you are lovely at giving kindness to oithers.

Has anyone heard from @Former-Member lately?

I've got to run to work for one and half hours, I'm cleaning an elderly couple homes, it causes me huge anxiety but I want to see my Psychotherapist so it is how it is........

Seeing my Psychotherapist is worth it.

It's wonderful to see her again.

Take care everyone ,

Ugh @Angels333

I don't know what EMDR is - but it's so bad that your therapist was not qualified

I can't imagine what that is like - I can only relate that I would be totally unwilling to have an unqualified surgeon operating on me

Ouch - I really hate that for you

Love the birthday week @Faith-and-Hope

Rules that bend work - the inflexible will break and the cradle will fall etc

All the best with the birthdays - I have missed out on whose birthdays these are

But a birthday gives the birthday girl/boy a chance to spit on the cake as they blow out the candles

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Decadian,

Answering your post from earlier today. 'Happily isolated' sounds good but I can imagine how difficult, frustrating and possibly alarming it would have been at Easter time for you with your injury and being unable to even get to the shop. I wonder if it would help you at all to find a support worker of some kind, such as the one I have under the Phams scheme, or through some other community organisation in your area. Perhaps you already access support of this kind or are not interested in it. I just mention it because, even though I don't live alone, I still find that this has really improved my overall wellbeing, especially in relation to social isolation. Thanks again for the message. Food for thought in what you say.

Re: Night Shift

Dear @Decadian

Thankyou for that post. It feels like you have given up a lot but you feel more better being here online with Sane Forums.

When you rote 'I value you,' I remembered a dream I had last night of someone who is a very very good friend I have known for many years. Is this for us; WE value ourseloves?

Re: Night Shift

dear @lisajane

these mood stabilizers have made a big difference in my life. Also;

having my youngest son staying with us. he has a small nervous breakdown when he first moved in with us; but I stayed focused by just not expecting much from him.

Its extremely upsetting to have both son's screwed up by

family and family friends sexual abuse on both.

Hearing of that 3 years that my oldest son being severely abused by living with his Dad.

realising that by; focusing on yourself getting strong is what helps them. how you answer them is so important.

I went back to my darling Psychotherapist and told her I want to write a book so thats what we are doing.

how are you?
