Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

That gets me thinking of @Sahara... and @BeeGee... are you guys around much?

G'day Si,

Haven't been around much recently - my studies have ratcheted up a notch so I'm pretty flat out keeping up with that. Nine months to go and counting... so keen for it to be finished. This year seems to be taking its sweet time!

I'm doing OK though, just need to practise patience and keep putting one foot after the other. Sorry that work is proving so elusive for you - that must get pretty frustrating at times.

When I said my cat is split, should of been spoilt.

Hey @Snuchu are you still at home or did you go back to the hospital to get your meds sorted out? I'm sorry to hear you are having a rough time on your overnight pass. Have you had any sleep?

Great to hear from you @BeeGee - it sounds like you are on top of the extra study workload... well done, you.

Hugs and happy vibes heading your way... 🙂

Sometimes, life provides in ways we do not anticipate. I remain positive about my job prospects...

Re: Night Shift

Split cats are messy @comet - hahaha... I'm glad yours is spoiled...

When I was a kidlet, I had a cat that used to think it was a dog too. It would walk with us around the neighbourhood, climb trees, run ahead and hide behind a bush, and then jump out to surprise us when we caught up...

Funny kitty... his name was Hugo Børge...

Thanks Silenus, spoiled! (Mild cognitive impairment from this end). Cheers.

Re: Night Shift

Hey@comet. Your description of your cat with character put a smile on my dial. Rescue animals are the best in my opinion. My dog is thoroughly spoilt too.

I also wanted to add that don't worry if you make a typo which if you are like me is easier said than done. When I first started I used to beat myself up at all my mistakes. Then I looked at so many other posts with typos and realised that it's ok. I'm trying to let things go. I keep repeating words, have swapped their for there and others, made spelling mistakes, missed autocorrects and jumped all over the place but I'm trying to let it go. Don't put pressure on yourself to get it perfect because you write well and we will be able to work out any typos.
😊💜
