Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Chirp chirp...

Up with the birds again...

Good morning, all you birds of different feathers. 🙂

Hi @Silenus
It's a bit damp up your way I believe. Are you managing to keep dry?

Re: Night Shift

Good morning @Kurra

Yes the clouds have been generous these past few days.

Stayed mostly indoors, with a couple of quick flits out to check on our Coaster... the old girl has a couple of leaks... she's more bog and silicone than solid body... hahaha... I think I know the feeling...

How are you doing? Throwing lots of logs on the fire to stay warm?

Re: Night Shift

It's getting really hot here in Canada. It's around 30 C, which is around 90 F. Phew!

I'm on a overnight pass from the hospital now, but I don't think I'll make it without going back at least once for an injection... The voices are back already.

@Silenus
I'm going really well. Saw pdoc on Thursday and he believes my bipolar is inactive. I certainly feel as if I belong in my own skin. A first in my living memory.
Yes the heating is on although it's not desperately cold - 12C at the moment but it is wet, wet, wet. Nothing like you're copping though.

Re: Night Shift

Glad to hear you realise you might need an injection during the night. Just try to get the help before the voices become desperate.

Hiya @Snuchu

Naughty voices. Tell them that Si said "Ssshhhhhhh..."

Do you like the heat, Snuch?

Sending quiet calm hugs...

Re: Night Shift

That's great news about the bipolar @Kurra 🙂

The suburb I'm in hasn't been copping too much rain. No flooding here... just lots of happy plants... it was getting so dry before this storm came through.

@Silenus
We've been needing a decent drop of rain for a long time. I'm sure all those paddock weeds I've been poisoning will spring up again with gay abandon.
I'm meant to be in Braidwood today but I suspect there will be flooding in Bungendore. I'll check the river heights a bit later.
Enjoy the rain!

Re: Night Shift

Good morning all. Another clear, cool morning here. About 24 deg but set to go up to 35 later. Nice and quiet with just the birds twittering. Our big rains have finished now until about October or later.
