Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

@msbertie, yes, in okay spirits at the moment. How have you been?

@eth, yes, went to bed about 10pm and woke again about 1.30am. Been sleeping a lot lately in smallish chunks. Have you managed any sleep yet?

Re: Night Shift

Thats good Im ok atm im into my 4th episode of season 2 of Bloodline ill probably watch the entire season before going to sleep again I was hoping to shift this current sleeping pattern back to a normal sleep at night and awake during the day but it was not to be since I woke up at about 8pm so Ill try again when I can. Thanks for asking I hope you can sleep soon.

Re: Night Shift

@msbertie, it's really noisy with wind outside, big gusts whipping the palm trees around. Very heavy rainfall today where I am, just across the road from the ocean. Always slightly worried when it's like this that the ocean's going to end up in the living room, hehe. Hasn't happened so far though, feels pretty cosy inside here really. Yeah, may get some more sleep before too long.

Re: Night Shift

@Mazarita I've had about 3 hours sleep so far. I can resemble what you say about sleeping in small chunks.

@msbertie I just found your other post and will try to post you a longer reply there tomorrow. I also have been through a lot of what you describe. The first thing I added to my list of places I was able to go to was the library and that really helped me get through many hours a day at home. I was nearly always at home for 6 years this time around and have had periods like that before. At the library these days it's not just books. You can get CDs DVDs and audio stories too. I spent most of those 6 years reading.

Oh wow you too yeah I dont have a library anywhere near me I just barely make the 12 minute drive to a little town near me to see my GP and Psychologist meets me there too and I have a chemist and a small foodworks there and thats it otherwise the closest town to me in about 40 mins away which I cant even imagine driving that far my anxiety controls im sad to say but it would be a great idea and even then I think a library would probably be about 1.5 hours away at least but it would be a great place to go Im sure thank you for that idea I really appreciate it.
