Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

Good day to you, @Silenus!

Yep, I'm struggling with stuff today but have spared this thread a long and self indulgent rave by posting it elsewhere.

Sending fond greetings to your friends, the butcher birds too. 🙂

Re: Night Shift

@Mazarita - I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling with stuff today. Here's a big old Si hug...

My wonderful friend Deej taught me this...

I couldn't get it right for ages...

Then it clicked... hahaha...

Sending hugs...

(>'.')><('.'<)

I will toddle off and look at your "self indulgent rave", and then respond to you with a hug and a gentle reminder that a self indulgent rave can do much to clear our spirits and work through our twisted thoughts and emotions... well done you for writing it down. Writing as Therapy, at work...

That's what we do in our interactions on here. We write as therapy. And it works...

Taken as part of a well-balanced diet, it helps... hahaha...

[Sqwaaaarrrrk]

Yes Cyril. It's cracker time. Thank you again for not pooping on my back. You've been very good, you have. You will get an extra cracker for your control...

[Sqwuuuaarrrrkkk!!!]

[Sounds of uncontrolled excited parrot pooping...]

Oh, Cyril... not again... not again...

Sigh... I promised you the extra cracker though, so, here you are...

[Lights bunger?]

[Decides against bunger. Goes with yummy cracker, one of those Lavash or Lavosh thingies...]

[Sqwaark sqwaark sqwaaarrggh]

Yes, Cyril...

@Silenus

Please tell Cyril that I can't approve of this pooping on you just because you have a self-deprecating sense of humour. Cyril must be a grump indeed to be so insistent that any sign of this delightful characteristic requires such harsh punishment, even if imaginary.

On the other hand, Cyril does give rise to some also delightful, if somewhat mad (in a good way), writing performances from you. He has a pretty harsh voice though, could use some lessons in voice modulation.

Thanks for responding to my long rave with a huggle. You might reconsider when you read the part about me not showering for a few days! But that's the good thing about these virtual conversations: they don't smell, unlike Cyril.

Re: Night Shift

SEQ is very enjoyable this time of year, I find... I lived in BrisVegas back in the mid-1990s. I was in Fortitude Valley - colourful place... hahaha... some odd times... interesting characters...

This time of year is a lovely time (well, any time is lovely, but you know what I mean...)... the change of the seasons... we get the cool nights, the sometimes biting wind with winter's sting in it... and still, the warmth of that beautiful golden life-giving sun...

Snuggle time under the doonah at night...

Find a shady spot somewhere nice and green during the day...

Chyeah... word... that's the bomb...

Re: Night Shift

Giggle... thanks Maz... @Mazarita. You're a beautiful soul, kind and warm and wise... the world is made much better with the inclusion of you in it... huggles...

Re: Night Shift

Thanks mistah! I like the world better for you in it too, @Silenus.

Re: Night Shift

Ahhh, Cyril's alright... hahaha... notwithstanding his occasional incontinence...

If not his sphincter, certainly his heart is in the right place, and doing the right thing. He cares about me - I'm his shoulder to cry on (or poop on). My shoulder is his home. He's watching out for me. I could go so far as to say...

... wait for it...

...

...

Cyril's got my back...

[Waits for audience applause... not a sausage...]

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Silenus

Battling along - how are you these days? Any new on the job front?

Are you still travelling? Where are you at the moment? I wish I could leave here for the winter...

Re: Night Shift

Me too @Former-Member
It's starting to get quite cold here. We had our first minus overnight temperature the night before last.
Travelling north would be a dream come true.
If only. ........
