Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Totally understand @eth

Yes... that outrageous behaviour thing. The lack of control... the train wrecks... hahaha... carriages everywhere...

Story of my life in the earlier years. Still a bit of it now, in these more enlightened times...

We unpack the memories when we are ready. They will be there for us still, when we are ready...

Hahaha... @Snuchu - my imaginary parrot Cyril, who nearly always rests on my shoulder, got scared by the fluffy kitten I was juggling...

We're all fine after the fall... giggle...

Re: Night Shift

@eth,

Ditto from me with what @Silenus said about unpacking some of the family issues when you are ready. I think you are wise to avoid retraumatising yourself. For me, these things can be either, 'nope, don't want to talk about it', or, 'here it comes, watch out for the outpouring', at different times. Seems best to talk about these things only when they naturally come forth and want speaking about.

About your sleeping... even though you feel that the new medication dose may not be doing much, from what I've been reading of you lately, you do seem to be getting at least three to four hours more often now. This seems to be an improvement on the 90 minute blocks you were getting for a long time previously. I may be wrong about this, of course, but just wanted to mention that impression I'm getting in case it's helpful to you.

But enough seriousness for now, undie man to the rescue, lol!

I appear to have run out of dishes to wash...

Re: Night Shift

You can do mine...

But, enough nonsense from me, I'm off to do some video and then get ready for the docs (dishes can wait).

Seeya later fellow travellers!

Re: Night Shift

@eth, I'm talking to the crisis chat but I don't think they're gonna call 911 on me.

Good on you for being brave enough to reach out for support @Snuchu. I hope they can help you tonight. I'm here too when you want to talk here.
