Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

@eth, aha, thanks!

Yeah, I can start not sleeping and get manic and not sleep for days or even weeks. My record is almost two weeks... It was completely UNREAL.

However, that sounds like a mixed episode... Don't take me seriously, I'm no doctor, it's just based off my experience. It's good that you're talking to your doctor and getting help.
My doctor isn't any good, he removed me off two meds and I'm getting slightly destablized as of late. 😕

Re: Night Shift

Hi. Just visiting ... I'm drifting in and out of sleep ...

Noticed a 'like' from @PUP in there somewhere. Hi kiddo, if you're still up 🙂

Re: Night Shift

@Snuchu I would go back to the doctor and tell them what is going on for you. It could be an adjustment period or it could be more than that, I can't say, but I think it's important to have a good dialogue with our docs when things are changing.

Re: Night Shift

I think my doctor implusively removed me off the meds without thinking, because I'm more suspectible to episodes and psychosis in the summer. (June to Aug)

Re: Night Shift

Of course @Snuchu if that doctor is really not working out for you, you always have the option of getting a 2nd opinion from a different one. Some of us on here have had to try and try again to find doctors and therapists that we can work well with.

Still awake @eth, @Snuchu, @Faith-and-Hope, @plasmo?

Just woke after 3 hours, as is usual lately...

Hi @Mazarita

I am.

Its raining here. The weather report said we would have more storms tonight.

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Mazarita yep I'm here, again, still ... Did you sleep well without the disturbing dreams?

Re: Night Shift

@Faith-and-Hope, I like the sound of rain in the night. Storms, not so much. I imagine you tucked up in bed. Are you doing some art play tonight?

@eth, no disturbing dreams so far. I won't jinx myself again by saying they are gone, but so far so good. Glad to read you are thinking of getting out of the place tomorrow if possible.

Re: Night Shift

My nurse replied to me!

Cheers. 😄

She's understandably worried... I can tell by her typing. She might see me today instead of Wednesday, what a relief.
