Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

@plasmo, trying to get a support worker to help you sounds like a plan. I have one and it's really helped me in practical ways over the past six months or so. If you've had one before I guess you know the process of how to get one again.

@eth, hi, how are you this night?

Re: Night Shift

I'm ok thanks @Mazarita Had nearly 4 hours sleep and feeling like I will go back for some more in a little while. How are you? How's your chest infection going?

I just saw your post on The importance of family... thread. Once again there are similarities in our stories. I just haven't told much of mine there yet. Sometimes going into a lot of detail about the past can be quite draining. Do you find that too?

Re: Night Shift

@eth, yes, sometimes it can be draining. But at the moment, in the middle of this night, I find I am more contemplative about it than passionately involved. I think it's also part of getting to know people on this forum to share stories like that. I've told parts of the same story in different ways over my time on the forum. Maybe I'm stuck thinking about it still, not sure. It's certainly something that has played on my mind for a long, long time.

I should probably try to get some more sleep now, @plasmo, @eth. Read you later. 🙂

Re: Night Shift

Hi @eth

I am feeling much better today - I woke up early and could see the moon setting - but it is cold - I am glad I left the heater on overnight

I caught up on my sleep - it took all weekend to do it - but 2-3 sleepness nights would make anyone feel as if they were walking through jelly I think

But today I am up at a reasonable hour - I might even achieve something useful today

And how are you today?

Re: Night Shift

Ah @Kurra

I get it - sorry abou the confusion

Now about your daughter - I understand - I have a sister like that 😞

Aren't they wonderful - people who have clarified other people's ways of life to the point that they are the only person who has it right

I so understand this - and it could be one of the reasons for your headaches
