Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

@Mazarita Must have felt really good to realize you could drive when you needed to.

Weather today is the same as it has been, really hot and humid. Last night we ate on the back porch where there was a nice cool breeze and it was lovely.

Re: Night Shift

@eth Back porch eating with a tropical breeze and mate sounds wonderful. Cool that you have a house. This is a small flat for two of us, we get on top of each other sometimes. But we give each other lots of solo headspace even when in the same room and mostly get on very well. We've been over 12 years together.

Re: Night Shift

@Mazarita it's not a house it's a public housing flat where I live alone, but has a small porch and postage-stamp yard out the back. It does look out into a park so it feels like a bigger out door area but of course that means privacy issues at times. We've been involved about 10 years and are happy living separately. Good that you and your partner have worked out how to give each other space. I think it's important and healthy.

Re: Night Shift

@eth I remember from earlier chats that there are difficult aspects to where you are living. It sounds like you and your mate have evolved something good that works well for you both. Great to hear.

I'm going to try to get myself started on my activities now. Thanks again for the chat and hope your day goes well.

Hi @Former-Member how did your packing go today? Can you see the light at the end of the tunnel yet?

Re: Night Shift

Most everything is packed but I'm so disorganised. I spent half the time staring around me trying to work out what to do next and wandering!!!! Doh!! And I couldn't get my bed apart!! Sigh - hopefully the removalists will b able to do it!
I'm not feeling great - headache and sore throat - bit a hey but could be from the shifting!

Re: Night Shift

That's great that you have almost everything packed @Former-Member. Sorry you are not feeling well.

I had a busy day running a friend around town taking care of her needs. Bombed out for a while when I came home.

Re: Night Shift
