Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

@eth, about three hours sleep. Very complex and disturbing dream involving holding an elderly woman in my arms as she may have been dying, her son who was my partner involved in an orgy-like scene which is too outrageous to describe, my ex-husband, a rave party and me ending up alone amongst the rubble, gathering bits and pieces to walk away into a new life. Wasn't exactly peaceful! But I'm okay. I know they're just dreams...

Hang on to the part about walking away to a new life @Mazarita. The one thing about having dreamed is that it means we had a deep type of sleep that is really good for us.

I got another 3 1/2 hours or so, no dreams for me. This morning we finally have a proper cool dry season morning - it's lovely. Probably only down to around 18 or so but that's almost chilly after months of not going below about 28 even at dawn. Loving it!

That's awesome about the 18 degrees morning where you are, @eth. Have you been outside yet? I went out for a smoke (half a rollie cigarette) after the dream. Getting chilly here at night and still in the morning. Was about 11 degrees overnight. Probably turn into a lovely day though. It's a great time of year. Yes, your advice about the new life part of the dream is sound. Thanks.

Just making a brew and putting on some warm clothes and heading out the back in a minute @Mazarita.

I am determined to get out of the house today after over a week of avoidance. I need a script filled, to do some post and some groceries. It's amazing what I can eke out of the pantry when I don't want to go to the shopping centre 🙂

@eth, know the feeling of avoiding the shops and leaving the flat very well indeed. Haha to your creative abilities with dwindling pantry goods. I'm off to the GP today, mostly about physical stuff, especially related to crohns. I need a test done that I've been avoiding for 10 years. I think now is the time to overcome my phobia about it. Afternoon appointment which makes it much more likely I'll actually get there.
