Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

Hi all my friends
@PeppiPatty @Former-Member @eth @decadion @BlueBay @MoonGal @Former-Member @Mazarita @Shaz51 @Appleblossom @Draco I have had a difficult time

I'm 39 and it seems I had a mild heart attack 2 weeks ago and not gallstones. I'm doing a 24 hr ecg right now.

I actually posted this yesterday but my phone crashed which is so frustrating as I find typing so hard because of the meds.

Again I am grateful for all of you an if I have missed your name please forgive me

It's a precarious emotion as I'm afraid of the heart attack but I also feel like I can't go on.

Hi @shaz59 and hubby so sorry you're going through that - hopefully it's the new meds settling in and will calm down as they start to kick in and work - here listening to how awful it is though xx

Re: Night Shift

Hi Eth,

Yes, it would be good if there were some answers. Two weeks ago I was in excruciating pain (like labour pains) and my gp sent me to the er thinking it was gallstones. However I never felt pain over my heart, so I wasn't given an ecg as I insisted it was either indigestion and/or gallstones. They discharged me with a letter to follow up with my gp for liver function tests as they were a little high.

I thought the results were high because of the meds I didn't give it a second thought. A week later, (last monday) I had to see my gp about something completely random so while I was there I mentioned the liver enzymes were high so she redid thew liver tests.

Well it's been crazy ever since. The cardiac markers for heart attack CK should be under 150 well mine were 1185, a thousand more than normal. I tested my psychiatrist thinking it could still just be a coincedence from the meds (as I get every side effect under the sun)

Alas no, my psychiatrist was texting me for hours and finally got me to go to the er again. I'm off to the cardiologist next week. I Had to have today and tomorrow off work, I hate taking time off work!

And my trusty psychiatrist will not only have alot to talk about with me on thursday but he insists it's not the medicine.
