Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

Yes I have been diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression, and on mess too, but my two psychs where horrible to me so I struggle on my own and with the support of everyone here.

Re: Night Shift

Sorry you had that experience @Jacques. No wonder it's put you off. I've been lucky I guess over the last few years I've found really good practitioners that saw me as a bulk bill patient, even the psychiatrist. But at the moment I'm waiting to do a new mental health care plan with my GP next time I see her.

Re: Night Shift

Yes they told me I was faking having anxiety and depression, and that I was staying housebound to get the dole because I was too lazy to get a job.

I feel horrible enough without being ridiculed by professionals.

Re: Night Shift

That sounds so UNprofessional @Jacques and must have brought you down a lot at the time. Do you at least have a GP you can talk to?

Re: Night Shift

Yes it did, that was 4 years ago, I was so devastated, it was hard enough to reach out and to have that happen was shattering for me.

No I don't have any GP mine retired and I just go to any random one now.

Re: Night Shift

Sounds like these forums are your main support @Jacques - they really work well don't they?
