Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Hi @Angels333 and Lj
I feel that the best healer is getting really good Psychiatrist
Being gentle with yourself ( thanks @Appleblossom for this one )
Mexication
And a realisation that your going to be triggered...... It's going to happen
Can you find props to put in place to get you through ?
Lj 's court case reminds me of elements of how she has been brought

I find reading the story of Chiron the wounded healer on the Internet has been helpful for me as I can identify with it

Re: Night Shift

Wow @Mazarita is back. Great to see you and hear that your trip was a success. You Go Girl.

Hi @eth glad you are enjoying your grandchild. You are caring, tolerant and considerate of the situation and deserve some quality time.

@PeppiPatty and @Jacques I am just back from choir, but have an early morning. Will be away for the weekend .. YAY.

@Former-Member Find a way to talk yourself into surviving this marathon. The children will always need you to balance any stuff the father does, so go for the long term. No-one is perfect 24/7.

@Angels333 It is so good that you are making progress in some ways. I have never had success at squashing falshbacks, that is the nature of the beast, they are determined that you take notice. Maybe give it some good attention and write about it, and then perhaps they might leave you alone.

Take care all

Hi @Former-Member

I'm sorry you are having flashbacks - aw - they are bound to happen with all this legal stuff in front of you forcing you to keep the past new all the time

Yes - I agree - sometimes we just have to let them happen - the harder we try and make them stop the harder they are to control

I'm thinking of you

Hi @Shaz51

Penmaric was a series of books in one volume when I had a copy - but the people never got to Australia

I'm wondering if that was a different book because I would love to read it

Thanks for letting me know

Thanks @Appleblossom.
Hi @Mazarita welcome home. Keep up the good work. Proud of you for getting off the green. I know you've been working towards that.

Re: Night Shift

I understand that @Former-Member

Sometimes I go to sleep in the afternoon without meaning to - and then I can't fall asleep at night

And my pain specialist told me to go to bed at the same time and get up at the same time and not to sleep during the day and not to watch TV or read or do puzzles before bed

(sound effects - deep resounding sigh)

I told her - that sounds really boring

Right now you seem to be in a really bad place - and your sleep does not relax you when you have so much on your mind

What do you do though - I guess the flashbacks make it hard to do anything interesting as well as relaxing

Life's a b*tch -

My stars - look at the time!!!!!!!!! It's after 3.00am -

I wish I could say something useful instead of rattling on
