Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Former-Member

Try to be kind to yourself.

I'm feeling terrible I'm having success not using SH

but I feel so down I slept in for most of the afternoon

Why did I have to cone from such a dysfunctional background and why can't I move on with my life 😞

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Angels333

Sorry to hear that you are so down, i think you're amazing for not SH. Is there anything that will help you feel a bit better for a while, even if its just a soothing cuppa or colouring in/ some sort of activity to help for a little bit.

if u find an answer to your question let me know, i want to find out too..

I've been having flashbacks today. I'm just going to have to let the thoughts happen there's not much else I can do.

I know how bad things can get, stay strong ladies, you are all doing very well, break your night down into hours and try to listen to the meditation music if you can.

good luck, stay safe

Re: Night Shift

@Former-Member: Sorry you are doing it hard. Family legal proceedings are so tough. Despite how anxious you may feel, what I and others have seen over time is a very strong woman who has already come through so much, and, I believe, ultimately will endure. Hugs!

@Angels333: I didn't remember I was the first to welcome you to the forum (for which you are most welcome), but I remember you from other posts, Friday Feasts etc. By the way, I do sometimes talk to my psychiatrist about GP issues because other physical health issues can have a bearing on mental health.

@Shaz51: Hi, good to see you!

@BlueBells: Hiya! Haven't caught up with GonePirate's Beer Garden thread yet, will have to check it out later. I was hoping you might start your 'making the bed' thread here at SANE. I'm still managing to do it most days. It was one of the things that started to pick me up off the low ground about a year ago. Great to be chatting with you here.

@Former-Member: I second @Angels333's reminder about kindness to yourself (if you don't mind me banging on about that kind of thing to you again). Hoping tomorrow will be a better day for you. Namaste.

@Jacques: Thanks for the welcome back and the hugs.

While I'm thinking of it... hugs all round.
