Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

Hello @Shaz51 @Decadian @eth @plasmo @PeppiPatty

I am ok. I dropped off to sleep last night. Today I went to the doctor, putting up meds bit. She is leaving clinic, so its on to a new one. I feel sad and tight about that, always starting up again. Never mind.

Yes I have been getting out a lot. I have not really able to settle at home for a long time; to do music practise or writing the way I would like. So I have been going out to find constructive things to do. Exploring the musical landscape and modelling "the good life". Been doing that more and more for about 7 years. I could not relax or concentrate if he was holed up in his bedroom doing nothing but be on his computer all night and sleeping all day. I had to find a way to change that. it has taken a lot of energy. Now finally getting my son out more, I may be able to settle a bit and enjoy my home.

I am feeling very very exhausted though. I am going to bed.

Thank you all for being friends with me and each other.

hello everyone,

I am feleing lonely, i was wondering if you minded if i join in?

Hi @Shaz51, i hope hubby can find a way to calm himself down, you are such a supportive wife, he is so lucky to have you in his life.

@Angels333, i am proud you are winning the battle of SH, i wish i was as strong as you.

@Appleblossom, i hope you get some rest, i am always exhausted these days, i sleep so much but it is never a deep sleep, just a few hours here and their.

@PeppiPatty, i hope Mr Arlo is getting spoilt, please give him a hug from me 🙂 i hope your son is doing well.

@Decadian i hope you are finding some peace in the nature around you, i know you struggle this time of year, maybe now is a good time to celebrate what a wonderful loyal mother you where to your son, you stood by him when no one else would, that takes great courage. be proud of yourself for that.

It is ok if no one is out their, i just want to connect with you all.

take care everyone, hugs

Jacques

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Shaz51,

I am so glad i have made your day, i feel so humbled. it is great to hear from you too, i feel so bad i have not contributed much here lately, life has become so complex i am tto exhausted to write.

Oh i used to love swamp people, it was a good TV show, they are real characters 🙂

Maybe he needs something to distract him, does he have any hobbies he can focus on?

It is very dry, We have not had decent rains since september - october, i have had to water the garden and lawns so much to keep them alive.

You are so lucky to have rain, (lol you must be sick of it 🙂 ) but i really miss it, when i lived in Brisbane it rained almost every day, i love the rain, when it rains here i stand out in it so i can feel the dropplets on my face.
