Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

Hi Shaz

I hope I have a better night too - maybe it was the full moon or something

I just went out and had a look at the weather - it has been really humid all day - but now the full moon is up there and is completely surrounded by a large halo

What kind of weather will this bring - it means there is ice in the upper atmosphere

Great that you have your licence back Apple - I surrendered mine because of my medication - I miss driving - I think that is the hardest part about having chronic pain

Re: Night Shift

Congratulations @Appleblossom! Hi to everyone else.

2 more sleeps til the kids and my grand-daughter arrive for 8 days. Have been spending my time making the flat ready for extra people, cleaning and making it more toddler-friendly. Not sure if it's excitement and a bit of anxiety over all that or just the full moon but I really don't feel like sleeping yet.

Re: Night Shift

That sounds exciting @eth - I'm not sure that anything is truly toddler proof though! hope that the visit is fun and you get lots of time to make great memories,

Hi @Former-Member how's life going for you?

Re: Night Shift

Hi @eth Glad you are online and posting again.

Well toddlers can be a law unto themselves, so anxiety makes sense, and its probably the wise woman in you to be prepared for anything.

Hi @eth

Re: Night Shift

Thanks @Appleblossom.

@Former-Member sometimes all we can do is take it one day at a time, or even one hour! Facing court is terrifying but I believe you're a really devoted Mum and the court will see that. I'm reasonably stable at the moment thankyou, and just reminding myself that the most important thing I can do when my family is staying here is go with the flow ... and have some fun hopefully.

Re: Night Shift

Glad there is a little relief @Former-Member.

You have been courageous in taking on the teaching, the court issues and the home front.

How are you going @Appleblossom? I saw and joined the bereavement thread you started. I know only too well that it definitely does impact on mental health and think it's great you raised the topic.
