@utopiaI'd love to walk with you forward into 2018 on the look out for good things.
I mean things that really give us a feeling of validation or fun or ahah! ... or yeah I was right after all.
I just looked up the critics on that film and was amused to see how poorly it rated. It was actually put up for worst film and was described as treacly and a fraud. The lady who invited me had run a film festival in San Francisco and has a high opinion of her own opinion. What was good was that the 4 of of us enjoyed it together. I am pretty guarded rating things.
When I was a kid I spent a lot of time watching everybody carry on about movies or television shows that I did not have a clue about so I stayed silent. I never quite felt comfortable about deciding what made a movie great or c**p.
When this lady uses the word brilliant too many times I try to be polite about her Hollywood wisdom.
I did say I was "angry" quietly when it was about an adman who was going to learn a life lesson.
Who would have thought! I am learning how to handle her and be less naive.
The movie was alright, a bit contrived, not great at all, but a nice night because of the people.
