Tell Us About Your Avatar

Due to anonymity reasons, we can't have our face as our profile pic. I was wondering tonight about all the different pics I have seen on this Forum and the story behind them.

Some of you like me have animals. Maybe they are your pets. Others have inspirational sayings. There are ones with scenes on them and others that feature flowers or abstract designs.

My pic stems from my fascination with jellyfish. I love going to those huge aquarium places and watching the jellyfish. They are so serene and beautiful and make me feel calm. If I lived in a town that had a jellyfish display, I'd be there every week. Sometimes I watch videos of them. I use the good feelings I get from seeing them to lift my mood so each time I am on the Forum I am reminded of the beauty in the world and the peacefulness of their movements.

I hope you enjoy my pic half as much as I do.

That little pea is so cute @Bunniekins. Sorry to say that I ate some for dinner the other night -oops.

I love the fresh ones that you shell yourself. Reminds me of doing that as a child. I also get a lot of joy from all the “pea”photos you post on the Forum.

Thanks for that description @Appleblossom. I wonder what the artist was thinking when he/she created that work. I really like your interpretation.

This thread has made me look deeper into the pictures and see things that I hadn’t noticed .

The meaning is you had a pause, you could have stopped, but you chose to continue

@soul Thanks Soul ... you know after having greenpea as my handle I will never be able to look at a pea on my plate the same way ... ps: I love your jellyfish ... I really like jellyfish as well reminds me of growing up near the beach and seeing all the blue bottle washed ashore ... dangerous but beautiful.

@outlander - I didn’t realise that Outlander was the name of a book and television series. Is that where you got it from? I looked up the main female character and she is described as “Smart, stubborn and willful, Claire uses her wits, practical medical skills and knowledge of the future to survive in the 18th century.”

That’s pretty cool. It seems like she is faced with many challenges but flourishes in spite of them. Claire is an excellent role model. Different era but she’s a survivor and so are you.

It's a while ago now but you were having a bad night and I said I felt like a pixar owl sitting on the mantlepiece or window sill or something similar and at your suggestion I put up my first owl

Then I found my Dec-Owl - the wise, kind owl grandmother watching over

When I am away from my computer or in bed I read the phone messages often so yes - I am watching over many people

@soul i picked it for 2 reasons. One was because of the tv and book series but also because at the time i felt like a complete outsider. Someone who is completely out of sorts here. Someone who didnt fit in. But i like the tv series outlander and since having this name others have adopted the name claire for me. @Former-Member started that though so the credit goes to her for that name
