Re: Taking the plunge

Hi @Maggie ...that's not good that your day yesterday deteriorated into back clouds and your night was so very bleak 😞

Then finished a canvas, and painted another.

I am amazed that you can paint a whole painting and more in a day 😮 When I used to paint, it would take me months to finish a painting.

I hope your day works out to be better then yesterday, and the black clouds go away (I initially wrote something less polite there, lol) 💜

@CheerBear good luck with your car being at the mechanic today and with getting home and there again...

@Maggie You must be in Tassie? I would love to go one day. Dont knock the cool and the wet heat is over rated really :)xxx

Re: Taking the plunge

@NatureLover Thankyou. You are always very kind and caring.

I’m not a ‘ real’ painter. I only do dotting mandalas. Most are small, 6 by 6. I’ll put one up that I did so you can see.

Do you still paint ? There’s a thread @-Through open eyes. There are some lovely things there you might like to look at, or show and tell. 😳😳

Re: Taking the plunge

@Bunniekins Yes, I’m in Tassie. I love it here, and I prefer the cold. I’ve lived in parts of the mainland, but the heat is too much for me.

I hope you manage to come over sometime, you might not want to leave. The scenery is beautiful. I’m not knocking it up your way, but....I must admit....this takes some beating. 🌳🌲🍀🌿💐

Re: Taking the plunge

@Maggie - dotted mandalas are real paintings. Your picture isn't through yet, but I am excited to see it when it is...

Thanks for telling me about the painting thread. I no longer paint, as it requires too much emotional energy...you have to commit to the painting, and for me that takes months. Plus it takes up so much room, room that I don't have. So I gave away all my extensive painting stuff about 5 years ago. I only kept a few of my own paintings, as well.

Off to look at that thread now...

Re: Taking the plunge

@NatureLover I think you need a room thats permanently set up to paint. I can imagine the energy that goes into the creativity you are talking about. Mine has become therapy, a break from the internal chatter, and some colour in the darkness.

I’m sorry you no longer paint, but sometimes , life gets in the way.

Sending you a hug, and lots of 💕💚💙💜❤️🧡💛 I hope your day today has some good parts, or many.

Re: Taking the plunge

@Maggie yes the scenery from what I have seen in photos of Tassie is gorgeous and the weather is perfect. I am thinking Norway for me up with the polar bears :Dx

@Maggie

In between cuppas! lol Thinking of you gently dotting your canvases, big to little, especially love the dot on dot effect.

@NatureLoverNice to know about your painter side. There are so many creative people in the forum. I love looking at art, it settles me, rests my eyes from strains of reading and gives me lots to think about and ponder.

@BunniekinsLovely to see you. I have finally started up walking again. WIll think of you today. Mine is a midday walk in winter.

Cheers All @eth @CheerBear and any reading through.

Re: Taking the plunge

@Maggie your painting is beautiful! I would so like to have that on my wall, I could look at it for ages...you have a gorgeous sense of colour (which I don't - I envy you that, as I get a lot of pleasure from colour)...I'm so glad you have this as a therapy, it must bring you great pleasure being able to create something so beautiful.

I can't find that thread you mentioned, so I'll put one of my paintings from an old art class here...I chose the subject but not the style, my style evolved to become way more detailed with clear lines. This one is copied from another picture.
