Re: Taking the plunge

Morning @Maggie and hi everyone.

Slow here this morning. Its taking me a while to wake up but the kettle's on now if anyone would like one?

Thanks for your thoughts last night Maggie. Mr Person plans to be gone for 4 is months for now and maybe beyond that. When I'm in that very deep dark hole, tomorrow seems an eternity away so I can see things might change if he starts to feel a bit better, but who knows really.

I felt better with work yesterday which was good, thanks.

How are you going this morning?

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear Yes, the deep dark hole blocks vision for the next step, let alone any further.

I guess so much from his before you, will be super tricky, and hard to trust someone else, speaking from the voice of experience.

One step at a time is hard when, you want a glimpse into the future. 💙💙

I’m glad work was good yesterday. It’s sooo good you have that.

I’ve had a tricky night, not restful at all. I might have my painting student today, so I will need to get things organised. My flat is a disaster. I can’t get inside and outside organised together. It’s one or the other. 😂😂

Re: Taking the plunge

You're very right in that so much of his before me is super tricky @Maggie. I can't do anything about that before me stuff, except know that it can get better and hold hope when it fades. I know he arrived at the place he was going the day before yesterday but I didn't speak with him last night which is a first in a long time. I am coming down with something and worked until quite late last night so by the time I finished I crashed into a curled up ball. I'll check in with him today.

Work is being hit by the bug too, with so many people struggling because of it. We work across the country and notice when local things happen. Now very much noticing the local impact of the bug on the people we work with. Its very hard for so many.

I'm sorry you didn't have a restful night last night. Tough to have a disaster inside and think of having someone over 😏 I imagine student doesn't mind the muddle inside but that doesn't help you to not mind it. I hear you with one or the other 😆

Are you working on something in particular with student, or on your own?

My fabric is coming this week hopefully 😊 I am SO excited about it 😁

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear I was thinking about the loneliness stuff also. Sometimes, being around others, ( for me) can be one of the loneliest feelings. I realised I couldn’t run, my ( stuff) was inside me. It doesn’t stop the urge though.

Mr Persons toxic relationship will take some unraveling. Yes, you can only hold out hope that it can get getter. You obviously love him, he is lucky to have you.

Sorry you are coming down with something. A cold/flu ?? Did you get any rest/sleep ?

I’m not surprised people are struggling big time @CheerBear . It’s such a devastating bug, on so many levels, and such a wide scale. I really feel for people. It’s far worse that I imagined.

I will have my muddle sorted before student arrives @CheerBear, even if it just hides in cupboards. 😂😂 I’m very strange. 🙃🙃

She has a few projects we will be working on. I’m still waiting for nail foil.

Is this your quilt fabric ? Is it a patchwork quilt ? I’ve done small ones. 😍😍

Re: Taking the plunge

Loneliness around people is a huge and deep feeling @Maggie. I used to have it a lot, when the big bang first happened and for quite a while after. It was such a huge disconnect between me and everyone/everything else. Awful feeling 🙁 Not running is hard Maggie.

The bug is much worse than I imagined too. It doesn't seem like its getting better and it's hard to imagine it can. It will but it seems so distant. Our shops and roads here are still way busier than they should be. People are tired and over it. It's no good.

Haha with the cupboards. My trick is under the beds 😂 The laundry hides a lot too.

Your nail foil is taking some time :face_with_rolling_eyes: I have little patience haha.

Yes it's for patchwork. A big (totally me to aim big with no idea what I'm doing haha) and super colourful one. I'll show you some of the fabric that's on its way in a sec.

How long ago did you do yours? Did you enjoy making them?

Awww I just saw the cats ❤❤❤

Here's what's coming

There's no such thing as too colourful or patterned right?! 😂

I LOVE this and am really looking forward to creating chaos with it 😍

*** edit - my pics are playing up so I'll add them the backwards way in a moment

Re: Taking the plunge

I can’t see pics yet @CheerBear , but giggled in anticipation of ‘ you can never have too much colour ‘ right......RIGHT. 👍👍👍😂😂😂

A few years ago since I did mine. There wasn’t the online demo stuff back then. It makes so much difference.

Yes, nail foil is taking for......e...v..e..r. I have stones lined up ready.

I think the big loneliness stuff for me is, there never was a time to look back on it not being there. Early trauma doesn’t seem to have a beginning, or an end, ( for me anyway), more making the most of the tiny positives,if/when they come.

I saw your premier yesterday, talking about people with mask issues. He said it’s not a matter of human rights, it’s a matter of human lives. It made sense to me. I would not want to be the cause of someone getting sick, or worse. It seems selfish to me.

@CheerBear I just noticed your new title. CE. 👍👍

Re: Taking the plunge

Huge hugs for your loneliness @Maggie . Early experiences really can set things and cause big tricky. Looking for the tiny moments is strong ❤

I feel really torn about the mask thing. I haaaaate mandating things, I really do. It seems to divide people and take away compassion and care. I am seeing way too many examples of people vilifying others for not wearing one when curiosity and compassion could be so much better. There isn't a one-size-fits-all approach to anything, ever, yet people miss that or don't seem to care about what could be going on for the one who doesn't fit. They don't try and see what could be under the surface. I just feel so sad about it all and so scared to see people turning on each other 🙁

Speaking of seeing our Premier, have you seen our Chief Health Officer? He *may* have visited me in my dreams a few too many times over the last six months 😂 Apparently I am not alone in enjoying seeing him on tv as often as he is haha. That's a bad one to admit to and totally not funny given the circumstances, but small positives maybe?! 😜

International post seems to be taking an incredibly long time, which makes sense given the lack of travel. Domestic post is sloooow going too here. I expressed posted something within the same state as me - posted Sunday and it didn't arrive until end of the week. Bananas 🍌. I hope your foil comes soon. Sounds so fun.

I tried quilitng a while ago (10+ years ago) and found myself a bit lost without as much internet to teach me too. It's incredible how much we can learn with tutorials online. It makes what seems impossible more possible 😊

Let's see if this works:

Never too much colour 😆😂 Next level? 😉
