Re: Taking the plunge

I have a bit of the feels happening this morning @Maggie, and that made me teary in a nice way, thank you. We need that and I needed to hear that ❤

I'm so so glad Dr went well yesterday. Do you do physio at the moment? I really hope the new med works. How are you feeling about leaving it a year?

I have to do the washing today. A huge must now. I'm tagging along to learn interview things too and sewing. I think it looks like a good day today.

Painting today maybe? Sounds like a good plan to not have plans today.

Re: Taking the plunge

I think the spread is softening hearts @CheerBear . Looking at stage 4 is heartbreaking. None of us are safe, even if we think we are. We need kindness, not judgment. We are changing through this. What a way to change. Big 💞💞💞

Physio will start in a few weeks I think. I guess it will depend on availability, and who needs it most. I can contact them before the year, if things get worse. I can’t see me doing that, but it’s there if I do need it.

I hope the weather is fine to dry your washing. But you might use a dryer, so weather doesn’t matter then. Sounds like a few loads.

Sewing and interview things sounds like a good day ahead.

I might finish my 2 stones. I have something else to try. Nail foil. Never heard of it till a lady did a demo on a stone. Still waiting for supplies. Glittery, shiny bliss. 👍👍 Can’t wait to try.😊😊

Change is hard @Maggie and I agree, this is changing us all.

It sounds Dr yesterday was really helpful. Knowing you can contact them, even if you don't think you will, is hopefully a good thing.

I use a dryer at this time of the year. Even when the sun is out the washing struggles to dry if it is on the line. It's the folding that does my head in :face_with_rolling_eyes: Our cupboards are all mashed up inside, in part because 2 have their wardrobes in what was the play room and is now sib's room. It's hard to go in and out of it even though sib doesn't mind. Gotta do it though.

Nail foil as in nail foil for stones?! That sounds SO fun! I've not seen it before. So cool to try new things. I have elastic supplies coming. Elastic has become toilet paper-ish. Nowhere in store 😐 We have some super fun fabrics but little elastic which is annoying. Cow print, cats, villains, rainbows, hearts, characters etc 😁 Most want boring black but my plan is to include totally out there prints in the parcels I will send, just in case they feel like some fun. Who would have thought masks would be fashion 😉😂 Middle has some supplies on the way too. They had birthday money and decided, after months of thinking about it, to spend a chunk on fancy pencils. Prismacolour. Bonkers pricey but it's what they want. They have art of some kind in their hand from morning to night now. Very cool 😊

Re: Taking the plunge

Are you making masks for your family @CheerBear, or a wider outreach kind of thing.

Oh wow, cows, cats, villains, rainbows and hearts, all sounds super over the top nice to wear masks. Sorry about the electric/toilet paper hiccups. I’m finding that with other craft stuff. Lots of ‘ sold out’ notices,

I have a pic to share. I will need to search my pics, but I will post it later. I though it was funny when I saw it. You might also.

I don’t like folding much. I go through stages of sorting cupboards, until I need the towel, sheet to whatever on the bottom, everything falls out, so I bundle it all back in, till next time. The plan to keep it sorted never works. 😂😂

I don’t have a dryer, but a clothes horse thingy. Takes up the whole lounge space, and it’s just me. So glad you have a dryer, I don’t think it would be doable without one this time of year.

Yes @CheerBear foil for stones. I will post the demo on craft corner later if you would like.

Middle with art, morning till night. 👍👍👍 My kind of kid. 🥰🥰

Re: Taking the plunge

I'm teaching Big how to use the sewing machine and we are making them for family and friends who can't get them @Maggie. We finally found the right pattern and fabric so now it can be production line stuff 😆 They need to be washable and one size fits all which was tricky. Using interfacing fabric for a filter on the inside, soft cotton blend on the mouth/face part, and a thick fabric on the outside. It works better than nothing. Government mentioned not ruling out making masks mandatory. Mandating anything gives me shudders. Rainbows and cow print helps 😉

I'm looking forward to seeing your picture and the demo!

I'd better get moving. Plenty to do to start the day.

Thank you for your company 😘 Mega love ❤❤❤

Re: Taking the plunge

Lovely to see you @Maggie 😊

My yesterday was pretty full on. I helped out with a couple of interviews which was a fun full circle moment, then had a tricky night with Mr Friend. He's having a hard time and it's been concerning me for a while. It escalated quite quickly. We spent time on the phone last night talking about it and eventually he gave me an OK to call for more support. He's been referred to CATT. Big stuff. I was super happy with the quick response and the person I spoke with from the assessment and referral line was really helpful. I've had some experiences with them that have seriously hurt me so it's scary to talk to them. They really were so good though and listened, understood my concerns and saw them too etc. They even followed up with me after they'd spoken with him to let me know the outcome. Life's tough at the moment for many and Mr Person is really feeling it. Hopefully now he'll get some more support.

How about you? How was your day?
