Re: Taking the plunge

Oh @TheVorticon that made me teary and was so needed tonight, thank you! I haven't seen it (no social media) and really appreciate you sharing it. I wish that was the actual message we were getting.

Crew-wrangling went OK enough I think today thanks. My application went so well I learned how to bake cinnamon and apple scrolls from scratch, including making the pastry/bread bit with yeast (I have never baked like that before) and a glaze to go over the top haha 😆:face_with_rolling_eyes: I have done everything but the application today 😑 Serious struggle happening there. I want it in by Friday morning.

How was your day? It seems like we're both struggling with a similar work related thing at the moment. It's tough.

@Maggie 👋❤☕

Re: Taking the plunge

Yeah I was touched when I read the facebook post too. I saw it because it was shared by one of my old teachers.

Well done with the vacuum @Maggie 😄

Haha that sounds like a very tasty and impressive not-application @CheerBear 😉 Sorry to hear that it's been a struggle.

One time a few years ago I did a job application I actually finished it feeling pretty good about myself - maybe it could happen the same way for us both with our things this time... Possibly something to look forward to anyway 🙂

My day was pretty good, because I had a different work thing to do which meant that I didn't do either of the things my boss was checking on 😉 Temporary procrastinating reprieve.

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear I smiled reading your urgency to make scroll buns from scratch, instead of doing a job application. 👍Seriously impressed, but scroll buns from scratch would be a major meltdown for me, not to mention a very lost kitchen. 😩Has your gone missing???? ( kitchen).

Did you manage to dye your hair in between the wrangling? If you did, I’m even more impressed.

I’m leaving coffee ( a strong one ) for when you wake up. I hope today has good moments, or longer. 💙💙💙

@TheVorticon Temporary procrastination relief sounds like a welcome breathing space.

I hope your resume comes together as you are hoping it will. I’m sorry it’s such a struggle, but I understand how it is.

I hope today has good in it . Leaving a coffee you can hide under your desk. 😂😂☕️☕️

Re: Taking the plunge

Morning @Maggie and hi to anyone who might be around 👋

I went to make a cuppa this morning and thought of you with a missing kitchen here @Maggie. It is so bad. I cleaned the fridge out (dishes there), then made scrolls and the glaze, then did a stir fry and while I was dishing it out realised I had run out of dishwashing liquid. Worst timing to have nothing to wash it up with! But they were so fun and delicious and definitely worth it. I'm going to find a savoury scroll recipe and give that a go. Pizza and/or cheesymite scrolls 😁

I didn't colour it but did get it cut. My hairdresser of a few years is a younger person who has worked so hard to open her own business which she did at the start of the year. She's struggling with few clients (understandably) but couldn't get c-link help as she was told she was expected to stay open. It makes no sense. So I figured if she was told to stay open then I could go in. Plus, with hopefully a job interview soon, I would have said that too if I had been pulled over or questioned. It feels SO much better to have fresh hair (even if it was super scary to go) 🙂

How was your yesterday and how are you going this morning?

@TheVorticon I tried to reply last night but had a little kid and little cat struggling to settle down for the night. I really like the thought of us both finishing our things and hopefully feeling good about ourselves. It's really good to hear it has happened for you. So far this experience has made me feel really good about the work I do. I am glad to hear you had a better day. Had a giggle at your reprieve. Do you have a deadline for your tricky resume and work thing?

☕❤🌈

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear I might have used the ‘ out of dishwashing liquid ‘ as an excuse not to find a missing kitchen.....forever. 😂😂 But finding it the next day is really hard. Wish I could help. Once I get my motivation, bubbles in sink and clean freak hat on, look out world.

I imagine they tasted delicious. Stuff from scratch really does taste so much better. Savoury/vegemite scrolls sound delicious also. I hope they turn out as good as the others.

The hairdresser situation made no sense to me either @CheerBear . I’m really glad you did that, and that it feels good . Fresh hair can be a tiny help when so much is tough. 👍👍

Counsellor rang yesterday. It was good to have a chat. I’m a very strange one @CheerBear . It only took a person picking up a vacuum to send me into chaos. It’s not the kind of stuff you can say to many without more chaos happening internally. It’s a complex world to try to navigate, so , any small plus, is a huge win.

I have Some tidying to do today. I played with inks, but not pleased with results, so, I have mess of a different, but fun kind. I need tools. Unfortunately each art come with different applications and equipment. I might do something more familiar today, after tidying.

Re: Taking the plunge

The idea of having to do the dishes and clean the kitchen this morning is doing my head in @Maggie. Feral tradie hour run for dish liquid as soon as IGA opens for sure! Haha with the excuse though. Kind of like having a broken vacuum - twisted but silver lining maybe 😜

I had such a feel good moment at the supermarket that made the baking even nicer. Yeast is flying off the shelves apparently and there was not a hint of it there when I went. I felt disappointed as I was determined to have a go. When I went to pay for my groceries, after conceding I wasn't going to be having any kitchen fun, a worker behind the counter overheard me asking about when they might get some more. She had put a couple aside for herself when the delivery came in the day before and offered to let me have some. I'd like to think was a bit of a karma thing I think as I'd taken some time to give feedback on the website about the staff there, including her, and the awesome job they'd been doing during this bonkers time. It was so nice of her to share and totally one of those highlights of the day 😊

I hear you with how something seemingly insignificant to others can cause chaos and then how extra chaotic it can become when you try and share it with people who just don't get it. Counsellor is a special one 💙 Is she coming over tomorrow?

Glad to hear you played with inks. Learning can be frustrating when the results aren't there. I think that's why some people give up with crafty arty stuff. I hope you enjoy the process when you do it, even if the result isn't as expected. Familiar sounds like a good plan today, especially after venturing out with unfamiliar inks. Cross stitch? Dots?

@Former-Member 👋 You up for a cuppa (no pressure but a gentle offer)?

Re: Taking the plunge

There are some lovely things happening throughout the Coronavirus @CheerBear. The IGA worker yesterday and the yeast. She could have chosen to keep it for herself. It helps turn part of your day into an ok part. I just had a thought, I haven’t seen your highlight of the day thread light up lately, nudge nudge.

I’ll try dotting, but not sure yet.

Have you heard of Trauma &Co. it’s online and has some interesting stuff. I like the outlook, it’s inclusive , progresss and gentle. Some really good quotes come through.

If your IGA store opens at 7am, you might be doing a feral run as I write this. I hope you have milk for coffee, or will have soon. ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️

Re: Taking the plunge

Thanks @CheerBear .. Yes I would love a cuppa. And who better to sit and share it with, than you and @Maggie ☕☕🐶💕

Would also welcome a catchup with @Shaz51 @eth @Bunniekins @Former-Member @Sans911 @Snowie @BlueBay @outlander @Faith-and-Hope and a few others.

Still trying to find my safe place, but hope to catch up with you all soon. Sorry I have been so quiet, but I feel I have lost my voice to a large extent. And fearful of saying anything wrong. I have really appreciated your posts over the last week, despite my lack of response. It helped to make me feel included and connected to the people here that I care a great deal about, and respect immensely.

Thanks so much 😀 I am very humbled that so many of you have welcomed me back.

Sherry
