Re: Taking the plunge
A new kind of gig today @CheerBear . I can imagine feeling strange about new unfamiliar stuff. Counsellor is in the same boat. Teaching from a computer not in the classroom. I hope your nerves settle. I’m pretty sure the crew will be extra awesome.
You are doing a tremendous job. I know it will mean so much to those you communicate with. Go you.
Bro has a few friends, but his cactus patch is healthy and large. Tricky. His exterior is rough, and appears harsh. But well hidden, is a very soft heart. It’s been broken, so he protects it well, don’t we all. 💔💔💔

Love the cactus image and totally relate to it. My exterior is, as psych says, quite 'don't f. with me'. It makes it hard to let people in and hard for people to want to come in. Bro would have to let it down a little to allow his friends to know or see the tough he's going through and that's not easy at all. He's very lucky to have you. You see and hear and feel the soft insides so well.

Secondhand stores might have an affordable desk @CheerBear . Sometimes Facebook have buy and sell. I know you know all that. 🤪🤪
You got me wondering what people think when they meet/see me. I know it frustrates people because I speak very little. I sense Mose leave with a ? mark. I do get told often I’m very hard to get to know. Bro says more than he might think he’s saying. I know it took a few years of phone calls, and I was on the verge of giving up. Then I heard HIM. Heartbreaking, even when he doesn’t say the big stuff, or if it only comes out after enough drinking. Life is quite a journey, pain and joy.
I know you need to get ready for your day. Crew might be rising. Sending big 💜💜💜 You’ve got this. You are making a huge contribution. 💙💙💙

Re: Taking the plunge
You said that bro says more than he might think and it made me think that perhaps you also hear more than is said. I know you hear my unsaid. That's a gift. Having the patience to wait years is also a gift. I guess that would come from a place of understanding and empathy.
I mentioned the other day that I had a similar conversation where I heard a different sib of mine. It took a lot for him to spill and to speak his truth and it was heartbreaking also. It is such a journey of pain and joy.
The crew are so out of routine they're all still sleeping. If this goes for months, as they say it probably will, we'll be so far out of whack it will take a while to get back in to the swing of it. Hard to imagine the time beyond now at the moment. Even if they're asleep, I do have to get moving myself. I'll start with my usual call to well one to check and see how they're both going, then a way overdue shower and maybe some clothes instead of pjs today. Having no reason to get dressed works a little too well for me 😆
I hope your day has some good in it. Thanks for being you ❤

Re: Taking the plunge
@Former-Member I have read your message. You know I’m not good with words at my best, so bear with me please.
I’m sensing you are unwell, that’s not judging nor pointing a finger. This is the worst time to be making decisions that affect your life. This is the time you need us to support you. We can’t do that if you close your account. Please let us stand/ sit/ cry with you.
We have come through disagreements and disappointments in each other. You and @Zoe7 will do that to, and maybe come through stronger.
I’m leaving a warm cup of tea, a pat for Holly and Quin, and lots and lots of warm caring mushy ( only online) thoughts. ❤️❤️❤️💜💜💙💙

If stepping away or closing your account is what you need to do then full respect for that. If it is what tricky head is telling you that you should do please remember you are wanted, cared for, valued and appreciated here. You matter ❤

Re: Taking the plunge
Gig went well thanks. Spent lots of it on video calls with work people. It felt great to 'see' them and connect that way. I didn't get to do any actual gig work, even though I almost begged lol. We have to become familiar with new systems and processes first so that was the focus of today which I understand 🙂 Kids were super too.
Sib is back and seems much more OK than when they left 👍 The new job keeper payment is promising for them and I think has had a really positive impact on their mental health. Hoping that keeps them feeling better for a while.
