Re: Taking the plunge

Oh @Former-Member, that's close 🙁

I will have to suck it up and face the shop soon as we need fresh stuff (at the least) and can't wing it anymore. I dragged myself there, with friend for support, late one night on the weekend but it was all gone. Haven't been able to go back since. I feel panic at the thought of it.

Has there been any time or space for any you time?

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member I think the thought of shopping is scary for most people now. Then finding empty shelves. I understand how hard getting out that door can be @Former-Member . Hearing you,

Wow, that is very close to home.

Take care where you can. Sending 💜💜💜💜

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear Sib will be so grateful to have you and the crew right now. You are a good person. 👍👍❤️❤️ Leave pay will be a start.

I hope you manage some grocery shopping today. That will be tricky, to say the least of it.

Sending thoughts your way for the gig trial. You’ve got this. 👍👍👍

Re: Taking the plunge

@Maggie @CheerBear ... Yes indeed ... sending you an essentials pack of: Toilet paper, tissues, kitchen paper, hand sanitiser, disinfectant, cleaning supplies, flour, rice, pasta, mince ... last I heard fresh milk is also being rationed. How ridiculous. Argh ....

Cheerbear ... I am so pleased that things are going so well with Mr Friend. It must help immensely that his parents are obviously on-side and happy for their son to have you in his life. Really glad they are such good and supportive people, not just for their son, but (in turn) for you also. I hope soon you will get to meet his kids as well, and have a part in their lives too. How is his new job going? I hope its not being impacted with all the coronavirus related shutdowns and stand-downs. So many people are being badly affected. And those in the hospitality area, such as your sib, are hit worse than most. I hope they are able to obtain some form of financial support before leave pay runs out. They are lucky indeed to have you to help them through.

Maggie ... I hear you about making it out the door. I commend you for continuing to try, and for making it out, when you do. No mean feat, by any means.

Cheerbear, you mentioned me time stuff. No, no chance to do anything for me yet. Until Tuesday when we cancelled our Perth wedding trip, we were planning to be on our way over West right this minute. In transit in Sydney airport in fact. But now ... still feeling at a loose end, and a little lost. I spoke to my niece yesterday and she and her hubby-to-be ( a lovely fellow) are very understanding of the situation. Several others have also had to pull out of attending. They have a planned gathering of 130 guests, but it will be outdoors, so is not going to be banned. I'm thankful for that. But I guess not too many people will be able to think in years to come that they got married during a major pandemic. No hugging, kissing or handshaking ... thats going to be really weird ... and hard to do for many. Strange times.

Sherry

Re: Taking the plunge

Good morning @CheerBear @Maggie @Former-Member I'm hearing and feeling the challenges you all have at the moment. And valuing the mutual support here (on this thread but in the forums in general too) more than ever. Even tho' I live so close to bro, sil and her mum we are mostly communicating by a phone message group and maintaining personal distance etc already. And limiting going out as much as possible.

Really hoping you can get what you need asap CB and Mags -

Sherry I'm very sorry to hear it's all come so close to home for you now.

Really feeling for anyone with dependents, human or pet type.

Hope you're all able to find a moment of pleasure here or there today - time for hobbies methinks.

Posting more about resources on A long rave

Love to you all xx

Re: Taking the plunge

Good morning @Maggie and anyone who sees this later.

I don't drink coffee but I just got to work and am ready to fall asleep at my desk so maybe I should start. It's been a stressful week at work (I've been too stressed about work to even have time to be stressed about a certain global issue) but hopefully work should calm down now.

Re: Taking the plunge

Hi @Maggie thanks for the cuppa. I love that you tag me regularly. I slept a little longer this morning which was nice. Starting to relax a little after all the stress to get prepared to be at home for a while. We're (bro, sil and her mum here too) pre-emptively isolating as much as we can.

Hi to you too @CheerBear You're noticeably quiet this morning. I hope you and yours are ok.

How are things going for you both today?

Take care out there @TheVorticon .

Sending love and warm wishes to all here today. @Former-Member @Shaz51 @outlander @Gazza75 you too xoxo
