Re: Taking the plunge

Looking after the crew while being sick is hard @CheerBear , especially appointments. I hope Monday works out for you both. I know the choice you will make , if it comes to a choice.

I like the sound of your new beanie. I’m looking for a new one. My oldies are plain. With this cool change, I need to start looking for one soon.

It felt much better yesterday after counsellor. She had missed a call back and something else, so I was in overdrive. She never ceases to amaze me with her kindness, even when I feel like a selfish wretch. She apologised, but it was me who needed to, so all good. Abandonment sneaks in the tiniest crevices. She gets it though, but I hate that vulnerable feeling of being known. Ugh.

I might head out to my tree freeing for an hour today. I have the vines removed from the tree top, now for the bottom. It’s a huge undertaking. My hands can only take so much, and the rest of my aching joints, but it’s a really good feeling.

Not sure after that.

Re: Taking the plunge

Hi everyone @outlander @Maggie @CheerBear @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member and anyone I've missed. Started my day really slowly today, which is a nice change. Hope it's a gentle one for you all.

@Maggie re tree freeing ... I've dealt with what sounds like a similar situation - vines smothering a wanted tree/bush and what I do is pull out all the roots of the vine that I can, chop the base of any runners and then wait for the arial parts to die back - much easier to remove them then. Liberating the wanted plant always feels good.

Re: Taking the plunge

Hi back to you @eth

I too have started the day slowly ... easier to do when its cool and wet.

Hi @Maggie ... good luck with the tree freeing. Sounds like a very big job. Eth's advice sounds pretty good to me.

@CheerBear ... I am so sorry to read about Middle's broken arm. I hope the soccer coach can allow some minor participation while they are in the cast. Equally as importantly ... how is your own health going? I think today you had apts for both yourself and middle? Hope I got that right. I trust it all goes well, and that you manage to make it to your own appointment as well as Middles. You are just as important ... never forget that.

Hello also to @outlander and @TheVorticon 👋

Missed you all lately.

Sherry 💕

Re: Taking the plunge

Hi all,

I haven't read back very far but really wanted to say hi.

@CheerBear I can't believe more bone fractures. That must be so frustrating. My son is recovering well from his knee ops. He is walking normally and has a good range of movement in his knee. He is struggling with knowing he has to go through it all again with the other knee. It's more the time off work stuff. I know you'll get to the point one day when the stuff still happens but you don't have to be responsible for their recovery. I feel for you big time with all that's in front of you.

@Maggie , @eth I have been doing something similar to save my lemon tree. It's gratifying after. It's not so much a climber but a bush/tree that I'm having to saw of branches a bit at a time until I've cut it down. I might have to get my dad with a chainsaw to help with the main trunk though. The lemon tree looks like it's smiling at me already. 😄.

Im feeling ok for the first time in a long time. It's the first time I feel like I've got a kind of plan again. Shhh don't tell anyone but my plan is to learn to adult again 🤦‍♀️😳😉. I have to admit I'd fallen very much off the adult train and just descended into being defeated by life and hopeless. I've had to go right back to the very beginning.... the bloody basics because I wasn't doing anything to look after myself or anyone around me. So for the last few days I've managed to start a routine of a shower, cleaning teeth and brushing hair and preparing healthy food. I've started to look at things as possibilities again. I've had to give up my study and any plans and just start with building a foundation. I'm ok with that at the moment. So I won't have much to share cos me learning to adult isn't very interesting but I hope to be here more often.....but not likely for your first coffee of the morning. I think that comes in lesson 143 of learning to adult, getting up early in the morning 😜.

Hoping you all have a good morning coffee and a day that has more good than bad in it

@Teej So good to read you are starting to feel a bit better. It’s been a long and dark hole you are climbing out of. It will be good to see you around more, time of day means nothing more than lack of sleep. As for me, I’m afraid this is me today, enjoy your adulthood. 😘😘😘

@Former-Member It’s so good to see you around again. 💙💙💙 I’m really sorry it’s been so dark. Dropping off an early cup of tea. ☕️☕️☕️ I’m hoping you are catching a bit of sleep. Take care. 😘😘😘

@eth thanks for that helpful advice. I did that with the top vines and it worked a treat. The bottom are a foot at least deep, but I’ll give it a go there also. Not sure if you drink coffee or tea, I’ll leave one of each. I hope today is good to you. I’m enjoying my first ☕️☕️☕️💙💙💙💙❤️
