Re: Taking the plunge
Hey @CheerBear I am going to tell you a little story so lay back in your beanbag, put your feet up and enjoy storytime with Zoe...
There was once a scared little butterfly. She did not know what day it was or what time but day after day she put one wing in front of the other and will faint little flitters began to move her wings again. It was not easy for this little butterfly but with the encouragement of all her friends around her she continued to flitter along ...ever so slowly at first but as she became more confident that her wings could carry her she finally began to move out of her comfort zone and dip her wings back into the world.
Now this little butterfly was super scared and did not think she would ever be able to fly again. She tried time and time to spread her wings but kept getting knocked back by the slightest breeze. When she felt that there was no hope suddenly one of those breezes lifted her wings and she began to rise into the air. As she rose she could see the colours of the flowers, the birds high in the treetops and the sun in all it's glory beaming down upon here. She began to flitter her wings even more - in wonder of what else was out there ...and as she did a whole brave new world opened up in front of her. Slowly and tentatively she soared higher and higher, that breeze beneath her wings increased - lifting her above the clouds ...and with that the world began to turn from grey to colour as what was now in front of her was far more wondrous and far more vast than she had ever imagined it could be ...life changed in that instant as fear turned to calm and doubt into hope.... the little butterfly had learnt to fly.
So I say to you CB - go for it. You will never know if you do not try and the more times you try the better at it you become. If you get wonky or it gets too much then you take time out again but this time you will know you can get back up. Take the leap Hon and see how far you can fly ![]()

@CheerBear Dropping off an early ☕️☕️☕️☕️.
How was your yesterday? So many big positive and challenging things happening in your life @CheerBear . Who knows what the year ahead holds.
I hope you made it through the heat ok. The crew would find it draining.

Re: Taking the plunge
Very early one for you Maggie. Thanks for the ☕.
Yesterday here was good thanks. My 'homework' from psych is to call the job application place and to call uni. It was too hot to think about any of it yesterday afternoon though. Crew and I spent most of the night together in the lounge room with aircon.
How was counsellor yesterday? And the rest of the cave day?
Is it cooler for you there today?
❤

“Homework” sounds good @CheerBear . No need to rush it though. The heat is draining, very draining. Glad you and the crew spent the night under the aircon.
We are cooler, with rain, but it’s so muggy. I had a shower, anything that helps.
Counsellor was good thanks. We covered a lot of ground. She has a potatoe in her garden weighing in at 1.1 KgsLol. She grows her own veg and fruit. That’s not the ground we covered though.
I always seem to be full of questions.
I painted up a storm in the cave @CheerBear . I might put them on the craft thread later. Depends if confidence wavers or not.
Did psych help with other big stuff ( if you want to share). .?

1.1kg tater - that's a lot of mash 😆 I've been meaning to ask about the article and what's happened there, if you'd like to share.
Understand if you don't put them up on the craft corner but I'd love to see if you do. Painting up a storm sounds like a great way to spend time weathering a storm in a cave 😊
Psych is very helpful 99.9% of the time. Because of the way the work situation all kind of happened this week (and continued to an extent yesterday afternoon too), we spent a lot of time working through that. He wants to advocate loudly for my old uni to allow me to finish my course flexibly (fewer hours per week over a longer period of time) rather than have me transfer to a different course and lose a lot of units of work. I tried this fight when we moved here and lost which nearly broke me, so it's really hard for me to try and hope again 🙁 We'll see.
We did talk about the big relationship stuff too but not as much as we might havw had work not taken the turn it did. He's very supportive of it and thinks it's only a good thing. Things have become quite real this week. It helped to have a space to talk it through 🙂

Meant to add - how's today looking for you? Any idea of how you might spend today?

Re: Taking the plunge
Real this week sound good @CheerBear . Space to talk honestly and openly is important. Support from him will go a long way.
Advocate loudly for you on the uni front is awesome. Flexible hours would make it manageable and do able. I understand you not wanting to be let down again. More waiting, which is hard always. 🤞🤞🤞
I think I made a mistake putting the article through the editors letters section. I don’t even know if it made it to the paper or not. I tried checking, but got lost in too much info. They don’t let you know, which is frustrating.
I had another go at the health department last week. An email. I did receive a follow up phone call. About something else. Lol.

Re: Taking the plunge
The real is big. I'm reading about and thinking lots about what lust vs love is, how you know when something is real, how to navigate it all, what might be blurring my thinking and what's actually there... thinking, thinking, thinking 🤯😑😐
That's very frustrating with the letter. I can imagine it out there, bouncing around somewhere, and the frustration and holding-your-breath that might be happening at the moment. Grrr.
