Re: Taking the plunge

Yes it is @Maggie I'm not sure exactly what me and my regular sw will do with her yet. I guess it's sort of an induction and I feel like I should have a plan.

Hope today is better for you xx

@Former-Member I forgot to mention Holly in my post to you. I hope her eye is ok after the rabbit hunt yesterday. Sounds like nothing has changed there. Did she catch dinner. 🤮🤮🤮

@Maggie absolutely beautiful words, could not agree more.

@CheerBear You are resilient & brave. We're all here to listen within the forums.

Re: Taking the plunge

Thanks @Maggie ... actually yes, she did catch dinner. 😊 I'm sure her eye will be fine, just a little battle wound that she will wear with pride.

Thanks for the comment about me being a good cook. Actually I'm not. I'm a very ordinary cook, but I try.

Here is a real photo of breakfast this morning. Shows my nice freshly picked and blanched baby spinach nicely. Although the tomato/mushroom/spring onion/chutney salsa looks brown and uninteresting. But it all tasted good, and hubby liked. I will be sad to leave my little vege garden next week while away visiting family. Our neighbour will try to get a bit of water on it while I'm away. But with stage IV water restrictions its not easy. But I have a big drum of salvaged grey water (did I mention my life is grey ... seems everything is grey?) which he can dip into to keep my veges and herbs alive.

Hope your day improves @CheerBear , hi @eth and nice to see you here @Former-Member . Very true ... nice very true words.

Sherry 💕

Re: Taking the plunge

Afternoon all 👋

Lumpy throat reading/hearing your words this morning @Maggie. I've been pondering the idea of 'best interests at heart' as I've gone about my day so far. It's a big one. Your counsellor's sphere of influence extends widely, like yours. Very cool. Like a glove - loved that 💜 Hoping the blackness isn't so present today but realising this stuff can take time. With you either way 🖤

Thanks @Former-Member. Very appreciated 🙂

@Former-Member that looks so good! Hoping the gym and some diamond painting is feeling right for you today.

Big well done you @eth on working so hard to find your new good-fit support worker. Always impressed and inspired by your dedication and the way you make the NDIS work for you. I'm still waiting for my new plan to come through which isn't helping things at the moment, but will keep on keeping on with hope that I can maybe make it work for me too.

My day has been a bit better today thankfully. I organised a whole lot of stuff for the fundraiser (shopping, canteen, roster, money etc) and even managed to give some of it to other people which has taken a little bit of the load off. I've now made it very clear that I can't do anymore and if anything else is needed it has to be someone else's problem.

Kids and I have some December prep magic stuff to do tonight which I'm kind of looking forward to now 🙂 Easy dinner tonight - @Former-Member inspired eggs on toast 😉😊

Thanks for helping me not feel so alone ❤

Re: Taking the plunge

Well done @CheerBear . If you can, put it aside now, knowing you have done your best.

Enjoy some time with LF and magic prep stuff. An easy dinner ( thanks to @Former-Member ) and feet up if there time for it.

My counsellor dropped in for a quick coffee. She was passing and concerned. Very much appreciated. Encouraging words of, this is normal under the circumstances, go gently. So passing on some encouraging words of support.

Take care. 💜💕💜💕☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ Just for balance 🖤🖤🖤🖤🥴🥴🥴😁😁

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear - I'm really glad that today has been an improvement on yesterday. Sounds as though you got a lot done for the upcoming fundraiser, well done. And also very well done for ruling a line in the sand about how much you are able or willing to take on. If more needs to be done, let someone else carry some of the load. It sounds as though you have taken on more than your fair share anyway.

December prep magic stuff? Not sure what that is, but it sounds like fun for both kids and adults. And ... nothin' wrong with eggs on toast. Add a bit of green stuff and its a very healthy and nutritious meal.

@Maggie - Your counsellor always goes the extra mile doesnt she. What a treasure she is. I'll bet you count your lucky stars every day that you and she crossed paths all those years ago. That was so thoughtful of her to just pop in because she was concerned about you. You deserve to have people care about you Maggie, and its so good when they do. Nice that she also offered some encouraging words of support to tide you over until the next time you see her.

I had some good news myself today. 🌞 Two days ago I rang the imaging people to try to get an appointment for hubby to have this test done that the Dr ordered. They said nothing available until mid January ... no exceptions. Yesterday I phoned and spoke to the lovely registrar who was so nice and caring on Tuesdays meeting at the Oncology centre. I mentioned that we couldnt get the procedure done until mid January and did he have any suggestions. He said he could opt for a different type of test, but that he didnt go for it because of hubbys dodgy (single) kidney. So I agreed that we must wait. Then today I got angry about it ... so back on the phone and I rang the imaging place again. I explained the test needing to be done. She said to me "well arent you lucky". That confused me ... lucky why? Am I lucky that I have a husband that needs this test, or what? Anyway she said that until only an hour ago, they had nothing available until mid January. Yep I agreed that thats what I was told 2 days ago. Well ... as of early this afternoon they have decided to open on Saturday and opened up 3 appointments on Saturday for just the procedure hubby needs. So we are in ... lunch time on Saturday. Perfect timing as its 2 days before we go away. And results will be back before his next appointment with his GP, and more importantly ... before his next consultation with his neurologist. Made my day ... I really couldnt believe my luck.

I got to the gym this morning too ... so a tick in the box for that. And I am about to settle in and do a bit of my current diamond painting project. Hubby just having a lie down as he isnt feeling well, so a good chance to do some nice quiet work on my DP.

Everything is starting to come together with regards to my planning for next weeks trip away. My Dad came home from his week in respite on Monday and is settling in again back at home. I think he is looking forward to me arriving. He is still seeing the Dr 3 times per week with this infection he is still battling. I think my brother will also appreciate me being down there for the week ... as it will take some of the pressure off him to get him to appointments, do his grocery shopping, make sure he's okay, etc.

Over all its been a productive day for me.

Sherry 💕
