Re: Taking the plunge
Feels at our home 2 for sure. Unwell person is reacting again to the last treatment. There's a question mark over whether they'll be able to receive the last treatment in a few days. I'm putting it away in a box of "think about later" as I'm sinking with feels easily at the moment and this is a big one.
We're sharing weather at the moment. Crackers to think it was so warm only a week ago.
Psych appointment early for me so I better fly (once I've extra done my hair, chucked on my weird t-shirt and laced up the twinkle toes 😆😉).
Nice to briefly bump in to you too @eth ❤. I caught that you might have to look at housing too and am sorry to hear that. I thought you might be able to stay where you are for a lot longer.
I hope there's some good in the day for you both/all. Thanks for the company and the coffeee that starts my day off well ❤

Hope today is good to you too @CheerBear
@Maggie yes, having a psychologist who we really click with makes such a difference doesn't it. How are you going with your housing situation? Any progress?

Kick - ass outspokenness 💕💕😩😩😁😁🤔🤔 I can only imagine how hard, challenging and great, patenting can be there. Yes, a hopeful generation, on many levels. A far cry from the generation who were ‘ seen and not heard’. Evolution 💜💜💜
I can hear the big/sinking feels with unwell person atm @CheerBear . ‘ Think about later’ is all you can do, until later arrives, then deal with the flood. Will be listening, if it’s helpful.
I hope it doesn’t take too much fiddling with your hair @CheerBear 👍👍💜
Weird T-shirt, twinkle toes. 💕💕💕💕👍👍👍👍
@eth No news from Housing this week. Swinging from hopeful to hopeless. Nothing I can do but wait. Apparently waiting lists where you are can take years. Just something I’ve heard on the blooming grapevine.
Hope today is good to you. 💜💜💜

Morning @CheerBear @Maggie @eth @Shaz51 @outlander @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope Zoe7
Just a quick hello from Me, wishing you a good day today. Looks like its going to get pretty warm in my neck of the woods, hoping it cools down this arvo for when I have to drive out to my farm. I have to drop off one of mum's friends who is visiting from the UK. I have no air con in my ute so hoping she doesn't melt on the way.
Take care 🙂

Re: Taking the plunge
@Gazza75 I was just about to post to you before yours came through.
I wish we could send some of our rain up your way. 🌧🌧🌧☔️☔️💦💦
No air con, and a hot drive sounds very uncomfortable. I hope you have a cool shower.
Enjoy your time at the farm this weekend. Sending 💜💜💜☕️☕️☕️

Re: Taking the plunge
@Maggie - I'm so disappointed that you are still waiting to hear about housing. I had high hopes that you would hear something this week. Oh well, maybe next week. You did say ... by Christmas, and thats still a way off. Dont allow that hopeless feeling to take hold of you.
@Gazza75 - no aircon in your ute? Ouch! Not nice in this hot weather. Oh well .. wind the windows down and make sure you dont get blown away. At least wind chill factor helps a little. Visitors from the UK ... umm even though they are not long out of summer, they will certainly still feel the heat. We are meant to get much cooler weather here over the weekend, but not today. Perhaps get a couple of damp towells and have them to drape over your Pommie visitor's shoulders and neck. It will help to keep them cool, and hopefully not melt. My Marilyn is not far from being completed. I may even finish it today while hubby is out later. Will post to craft thread when I'm done. Do you take your DPs with you when you go to the farm? Your latest one is looking really good, I saw you post it elsewhere yesterday, but not the craft thread. Was it Outlanders thread perhaps?
Very hot here yesterday ... got to 36C, and windy with it. Predicted to reach 33C today, before a cooler change for the weekend. Thank goodness. The bushfires around here flared up again with yesterdays terrible weather conditions. I was outside last night around midnight, and there was a bright orange glow on the horison in the direction of our nearest fires. Pretty eerie. Yesterday the smoke was back in full force again too ... awful it was. A little less this morning, but still there.
Today is hubby and my 22nd wedding anniversary. I was interested to read about your friend Maggie who is turning 40 and regretting they are unmarried and childless. Being married isnt everything, and in many cases is the pits. I guess I regretted not having kids at times, but it really wasnt a choice I had, that choice was made for me by a husband who did not want a second family. Hubby forgot it was our anniversary. 😔 I gave him a card and a Darrell Lea chocolate of a type he really likes. We never make a big fuss, but we usually acknowledge the day. He sometimes has flowers delivered, and we usually have dinner out somewhere. Today though, I knew he had arranged to have drinks with his mate at a pub in town tonight, so no dinner for us today. I was going to cook a nice dinner at home, but as I have no idea what time he will be home tonight, that makes it a little difficult to plan. So I decided to have a nice breakfast - bacon, eggs, tomato, mushrooms and baked beans. So thats what I did for our brekky today. It will be something really simple for dinner tonight, something I can quickly heat up when he gets home ... whatever time that is. Drunk and angry most likely. 😡 But I will cook a nice dinner tomorrow for our anniversary I think. Cooler weather too, which is much better.
My Dad is still not well. Infection still raging through his body from an infected foot. Having to see nurse every second day at his GP practice, but not looking good. Just hope he doesnt lose a toe/foot/leg. Very worrying for all of us. He has been on antibiotics now for almost 2 weeks, but still not working. Maybe they need a different AB? I suppose a lack of good circulation in his legs is not helpful either. He has a lot of problems with his feet and legs as a result. He is seeing the doctor again today and having wounds dressed again, as well as more blood tests. Hopefully the tests will determine what more they need to do to clear things up.
@eth - so good to read your update on the Long Rave thread this morning. So many positives there.
@Shaz51 @outlander @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member - sending healing thoughts and love your way ... as always. And Zoe7 too (deliberately not tagged). I know you are unlikely to be reading here, but on the offchance you are. Thinking of you all during a really difficult time for each of you.
Sherry 💕

Re: Taking the plunge
Hi @Former-Member
I am so pleased you supported a couple of my posts this morning - I am not sure where you post most of the time but I do enjoy the way you care about us and the uplifting and encouraging messages you write - it's - well - comforting
You are right - marriage isn't everything - I hear what you say about your wedding anniversary - that sounds like a great brekky - but you expect he will come home drunk and angry - and he is not a well man after chemo and now on immuno-therapy - it is tough on you though and it would be nice to have at least a greeting on your anniversary - but that's some men I think
Children though - I have my daughter and she is the rose in my life - she is a wonderful person - we don't see each other often but we text a lot - it's the same with my grand-daughter who lives on the Sunshine Coast - I saw her in July when I went up there for a few days - and we text a lot too
I had a new phone delivered a couple of days ago but I have to go to the Telstra Shop for a different kind of SIM card - I will still be able to use my old phone which is smaller and has my photos in in - I was talking to my daughter yesterday and texting is the way to go - she has a wide circle of friends and is in touch by text constantly - I am so glad she has kept in touch with her school friends and some of my son's friends too - even though he has been gone for a long time now I still see his friends now and again
I know there were fires around the Sunshine Coast a few weeks back - I have been in a bush fire a long time ago - it wasn't a big fire but I remember how it looked at night - with the flares from a crown fire bursting into the sky like the corona from the sun - it must be scary being near fires - my grand-daughter was near the fires a few weeks back but they didn't threaten where she lives
Wow - it sounds pretty tough for your dad - I hope that infection settles too and he doesn't loose his toe/foot/leg - which sounds terrible - poor circulation does that - getting older isn't much fun - and you have a lot happening with your husband as well - you are a champion
I am sending healing thoughts your way and really glad I found a message of yours to read and catch up with you about - sending my best thoughts and my Friday Snoopy pic
Dec
Yep Sherry - we made it

Re: Taking the plunge
Hi all
Hope your counsellor has been good heart and soul medicine @Maggie 💜
Nice to hear from you @Gazza75 🙂 Hoping the driving goes OK, and another wishing we could share some rain with you.
Hey @Former-Member. Sounds like a pretty tricky day with your beautiful thoughtfulness and care alongside a lot less of that (and some) from husband. Hugs for you ❤
You've been through a lot with his illness by the sounds of it. My unwell one is having chemo. It doesn't cure this type of cancer as surgery is the only way to get rid of it, usually after radiation therapy to shrink it. Not many people have lasted through as many of these tumors as they have so far. Chemo was to hold off the growth of a very large and very fast growing tumor they found this year (on the back of ones in lungs, pelvis and heart over 12 months - all treated with surgery and radiation). No more surgery or radiation can be done and the chemo will compromise heart too much if it continues from here. They wanted to get to Christmas and they should do that, so that's one good thing.
The reaction is clot and infection at site of chemo cannula. They had it in one arm and now in the other. Their veins have said enough so finding one that can take the last dose might be a stretch. Youre so right with the pin cushion thing. We'll see.
They don't have huge support through the hospital as they're rural and the hospital is city, but they've recently engaged with community palliative care team which is helpful. You're also very right in in being draining for everyone. Chemo days are hard for us all. We go there the night before, the kids have the day off and I drive to the hospital in the morning, then back to their place, then back home in the evening. Plus the build up of stress and anxiety, the crash, the side effects... I enjoy it in a lot of ways though. We've never spent time together like this before now and it's incredibly good bonding time. We laugh at things you shouldn't laugh about, and talk deep and meaningful stuff. I'm really going to miss that one day so I'm taking every opportunity I can to have it now.
Yikes that was a bit of a spilly vent. Thank you for listening if you did ❤
I'm really sorry to hear about your dad too. Hoping it clears up soon.
Big ❤ to all
