Re: Taking the plunge

I’ve nothing planned so far @eth You sound like you are on top of things WARP etc. By the sound of it, you have good supports in place. I have an excellent SW. So good when you click.

Re: Taking the plunge

LOL @Maggie posting at the same time as you too! It's ages since I was part of one of these instant response conversations on the forums - it's really nice to catch you both before you head into your days. @CheerBear

Re: Taking the plunge

@Maggie so crazy that even priority housing list has such a waiting period. I went down that path back in 2005 so feel for you going through it. At the time a charity - catholicare - put us in an interim house while we waited for priority allocation from the department. Wondering whether that's an option you could check out too?

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear I’ve never done the bright hair. 👍👍👍 Just the short.

There really needs to be support for solo parents @CheerBear not waiting till the break happens. I wish there was a respite/rest time. So hard to keep pushing through.

I hope you and sib get some nice time out somewhere nice. Take care. 💜💜💜

Re: Taking the plunge

My name is down with catholicare also @eth . It’s a nightmare. I’m more up and down than usual, that’s saying something. 😩😩😩

I think so many people just can’t afford accommodation now, the system is stretched beyond what it can cope with. That leaves us hanging.

We’ve been to politicians, everyone. Sucks.

I was listening to a song I loved when I was young..Streets of London. I didn’t know I would be on the doorstep myself. It’s worse and worldwide.

Re: Taking the plunge

Sounds like you've done everything you can @Maggie I understand that the whole process is exhausting and the situation really does take it's toll on mental health. And agree, it is a crisis everywhere.

I'm lucky for the time being, living in a cabin in my bro and sil's back yard for going on 3 years. Needed to come here for family support with my health challenges. Moved interstate to be here. But recently bro said this is not a 'forever situation' and encouraged me to get on the housing list - haven't done it yet but need to get onto it. My psychologist said she'd write a letter for me saying I need a 'low density' situation - I was in public housing up north for 11 years before coming here and it was a horror show most of the time where I lived. So I have big fears about getting put in a place like that again. I was totally isolated, living behind locked doors and windows, hypervigilant, etc. I've heard there's also an organisation called Compass that does 'social housing' so will look into applying with them too.

Re: Taking the plunge

I presumed you could stay with family forever @eth . Sorry you are having to look at it all again. It’s a tough call, being a woman, coming out of abuse, with no financial background. I hope Compass is the answer.

Heading to a tree call and the day. Take care. 💕💕☕️☕️

Re: Taking the plunge

Morning any and all.

☕ @Maggie and anyone who might be up.

Gut feeling tells me maybe this morning is a quiet cuppa kind of morning Maggie. No need to reply if you'd prefer to not. Thinking of you ❤
