Re: Taking the plunge

Filtered through the screen coffee would be amazing @Maggie. I saw an empty cup by the kettle from where sibling had tried to make a cuppa when they left at what was probably around 4ish. I feel bad for them.

Something about kids dressing up, often with pretend weapons and fake red body stuff and scars etc makes me feel yuck (I draw the line there so I have a weird clown, toned-down enough skeleton and a cute witch - she looks mega cute 😊) on top of the whole door knocking thing, plus the way the shops run with it to get us to spend more money on things we don't need - not a fan. But I've had that conversation with my kids and now had the one about joining in community stuff and supporting events the council puts on and having fun. Balance is tricky.

My head felt the pang of pitching a tent. I'm sorry your yesterday was awful. Interested in hearing the small/big stuff if you want to talk about it, but understand if you don't. I wish I could magic you here and magic a couple of units in the backyard for you and sibling.

Those small, precious moments are so important and yours with the mumma and baby birds sounds beautiful.

Fair enough that you can't be bothered with games. Lots of feels there too.

Is this meeting a follow on one from the big one last week (I think it was last week - days blur)?

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear I alway get confused walking through shops with Halloween stuff on one isle, and Christmas stuff the other. It really does my head in. I mean really. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Mega cute witch sounds nice and fun, skeleton too. Balance is very tricky. Not wanting to be too much one way or the other. Where are those middle of the road maps??

Yea, the meeting is a follow up from last week. Much sooner than expected, but my counsellor is rattling cages still. 👍👍🤞🤞

Yesterday is the straw stuff @CheerBear. The breaking point that looks like nothing to react to, unfortunately, the load under the straw goes unnoticed, conveniently.

Speaking up will make it worse, I tried earlier this year. I asked the manager if he was aware many elderly/sick residents couldn’t afford heating. He told me not to be cocky. But in my opinion, he was the cocky one. So there’s no winner, just the owners making money and not giving a 🤬 dam.

Its everywhere I look, injustice. I’m boiling angry, for me and everyone, but helpless, and I HATE helplessness, don’t we all.

We are on the verge of going to the paper regarding housing. It’s all so big, and I’m such an incrediblely quiet person. It’s massive. Ouchies. :money_mouth_face:🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Re: Taking the plunge

Oh @Maggie 😔 I so hear you with the straw stuff and with the mega feels of knowing something is very wrong but being powerless and helpless against it. Watching people take advantage of that for also. It infuriates me and makes my head and heart go bang. I hate little but I hate that too. It is massive Maggie. That anger is so understandable.

I'm not sure if this is helpful and I'm reluctant to share for that reason, but my awesome counsellor and I have spoken a lot about 'acts of resistance'. They can be huge (like speaking up as you have) or really seemingly not huge. We pick apart stories of helplessness to enrich them with stories of resistance. One of mine was with my ex. He really hated sparkles so I used to put a lot of glitter out for kids to do craft with. He knew he would have looked pathetic carrying on over glitter so he used to fume but silently, while sparkles were scattered. Sometimes I would catch a shimmer on his work clothes and giggle. A small act of resistance I can hold on to. You have grass, and I'm sure you have a bazillion other moments (perhaps ones your mind goes to) that fight the wrongness. I know it doesn't fix it or make it better and it's not fair or right that you have to do that, but I see the load under the straw alongside the strength you have to carry that and the fight for right you have inside you.

Wishing very much, that it could all be made better.

Re: Taking the plunge

I loved the glitter on the work clothes @CheerBear . 🤩🤩😁😁😁👍👍

Thanks for sharing that, I can see it working for me too, in small ways. Yes, I have grass. My counsellor told me yesterday she’s wearing garden boots on Friday. Yea for awesome counsellors.

I wish I could make things better in your world too @CheerBear . I so do.

But you certainly have made me feel a whole lot better this morning. Thankyou.

I wonder if you have taken your feral look to the servo for a coffee yet. ☕️☕️☕️☕️👍👍

Re: Taking the plunge

Hi you two .... I always love waking up and listening to your morning talks. And a big 👍 for those instances of passive resistance. @Maggie @CheerBear Love the glitter story. And always love the continuing grass story. 💜💜

Shrouded in thick smoke here again. Smoke cloud all day yesterday and the sun unable to poke its rays out from behind the smoke. But today is calm so far, so hope those fireys can get things under control before the hotter windier days come again on Friday and into the weekend. 🔥🧯🚒👩‍🚒

Have you got your coffee yet Cheerbear? Hope so. Here's a special sparkly mug for you to drink from.

Hello and good morning to other callers here today as well. Hope your day is a good one, or the best possible.

Sherry 💕

Re: Taking the plunge

💜 @Maggie. You make me feel lots better also. Big time.

I am a huge fan of your counsellor and garden boots made me big smile! My twinkle toes are an extension of my sparkly act of resistance. This injustice stuff and the power and control games, they tear people apart and you bring people together through your painting - that is another 💪🎨🌳😍

All is well in my world now after a zombie looking run to find coffee 🤪😆. I treated myself to a store bought one while I was there to make up for the 😬 of not having any here.

Your post just came through @Former-Member. A big hi and good to see you also. Love the mug - that gave me a huge smile. And the passive resistance pic. So good 🙂 I'm sure you have many to hold on to too (thinking of what you go through with Mr Sherry) ❤

Smoke and fires are awful. It's such a stressful, on edge time. Thoughts and hopes with you.

I better head out for a while. House to tidy (how that happens when I spend so much time tidying I have no idea!) and icy poles to buy (hot here which is yuck) before this afternoon's influx of hyped up little people and their big ones.

❤ to all

@Former-Member Oh, I hope the fireys can get it under control. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🚒🚒🚒

I had a BIG laugh at your Passive Resistance pic. 👍👍👍👍

I think @CheerBear is at the servo, looking delicious, buying coffee to put in that sparkly mug @Former-Member

Off to visit a tree and dance on grass, well, maybe not dance, dreaming there. 🏋️‍♀️🏋️‍♀️🎺🦠🦠🦠

Oh I love that 😍❤😍

Quite possibly a very rolls eyes question coming @Maggie, but was that actually from Mary Poppins?

Re: Taking the plunge

Yes @CheerBear , quite something back then. Though we don’t have the petticoats to overcome any more, still much of the same in many areas other than voting. 💕💕
