@CheerBear Not adjusting to daylight saving, or that’s my excuse anyway.

Hiw are you today?😁

Re: Taking the plunge

Haha! I was hoping you were sleeping peacefully @Maggie. I'm still grizzly about the clocks changing 😑

I'm good today thanks. I slept well enough. How about you? How was your evening? Did you get some rest in after your tired yesterday?

Re: Taking the plunge

Awake all night @CheerBear as usual, but heavy headed. Grizzly here again😁😁👍👍

Watched some tv. Meeting kind of friend later this morning, her dog is getting a tooth removed ( ouch ) but will feel better when it’s gone. ( the dog ).

Any plans for today?

Re: Taking the plunge

Bummer with awake again all night and with the grizzly @Maggie. It seems that bear might be enjoying their travels across the Strait 😉:face_with_rolling_eyes:

How did the dog haircut go yesterday? Same kind of friend with dog with a sore tooth?

I have a blank day on the calendar today, though it's set for house inspection cleaning which is next week. I go a bit bananas with house inspections. Something about how fragile housing actually is and how much power real estates and property owners have over people will do that 😏 Tipping you know a bit about that feeling. It's too wet for doing the garden so I might tackle my room, the laundry and bathroom today I think.

Re: Taking the plunge

Being awake all night is just my weird kind of normal, @CheerBear Hummm, might get rid of the honey. 😁😁😁

The haircut was tricky. Wriggly puppy. An audience was nerve wracking. But looks ok ish for an beginner.

No no tooth is kind of friend, haircut was another resident here.

Yes to the housing inspection bringing on banana brain fuzzy. The power thing seems to be everywhere, I don’t know if it’s just me, but everyone seems to be in on it. Kindness and caring are becoming extinct. 🙃🙃

Hope the cleaning goes ok today.

I was thinking about failure in the middle of the night. Just for some light entertainment. 😁😁😁 What actually is failure and who’s the judge.?

Re: Taking the plunge

Good job you on doing the haircut thing, especially with an audience @Maggie! 😁🎉

Haha I like the 'light entertainment' comment thrown in there. I feel that too. It's like my brain goes 'it's still and quiet, there's nothing to distract you right now, you're starting to feel peaceful... let's throw allllll the big, bad, dark and twisty stuff at you" 😆

I want to believe we get to decide what failure means to us but I think how we define failure is set within us early and reinforced throughout lots of life 'stuff'. Perhaps freedom can be found from taking control over that judgement. Nice idea. Exceptionally difficult in practice for some of us maybe. What are your thoughts (if you feel like sharing)?

I've got lunches to make but will be around on and off. I'm dangling a pair of sparkly boots as an incentive for house inspection cleaning. I was going to get a skip but if I can do this without one (which I can it's just going to take longer, not be as satisfying, be more work etc.) then I'll push confirm on the dream order 😁

I'll be back... 😊😁

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear Big smile reading ‘ it’s still and quiet now, nothing to distract you, peaceful feeling.....let’s throw allll the big dark twisty. Yey for long dwelling nights full of thinking and more thinking. 🙃🙃🙃

I got stuck on the freedom @CheerBear. I agree failure gets planted in early years and reinforced. But last night I was trying to get to the roots of failure. We can’t see the future, something I’m grateful for, so if the choices we make don’t end up how we expected, is that failure? Just giving things a go has to be successful to some extent, how else do we learn? I’m looking at my present situation. I came with hope and as much information as I was offered. But not all the information was honest. And reality well, sucks. Unfortunately though, I get the short straw and failure label. Plus, you SHOULD know better by now. Plus closed doors.

Freedom....spent lots of time there. No conclusion.

What in the lunch boxes. 🥰🥰🥰☕️☕️☕️🙃🙃

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear I forgot to add this.

I think we have the right to change our housing, and other things in our lives. If I was taken seriously 12 mths ago, after I looked at my finances, and responded with, this is not working how I expected. I was being responsible and it wasn’t a failure back then, just a hiccup.

What turned it into a failure was nothing being available for me, no one taking my situation seriously, and a broken system failing me, but making me look like the failure, not the system. But I’m still waiting, unheard. So many unheard tragic stories. Sad society we live in.

Sorry, getting carried away.

Re: Taking the plunge

There's lots in your those posts I relate to and feel and think too @Maggie . That bit about giving things a go was where I was yesterday morning when I decided to go in to my gig. I told myself that trying has to be worth something. I felt so goid for doing what I did, but not long ago what I did yesterday would have screamed failure to me as I would have been stuck on how it should be more, be easier, be anything other than what it is... That failure feeling would have come from expectations I have on myself based on the past. Those expectations were set with hope, before it all happened and before I knew where I would be now. Before the family law system, justice system, housing system etc. failed me.Those failures aren't ours to carry yet we carry the impact of them. The brokenness of them isn't our fault yet we live with the broken they cause.
I see you Maggie, pushing though when pushing through is so hard. Holding glimmers of hope despite so many reasons not to. Connecting when connecting is painful, scary, exhausting. I don't see fail in you anywhere, though I hear your feelings of it. I'd do anything to change things for us all. We all deserve better.
I'm going to share something quickly before I dive into cleaning, just because it made me giggle and I hope it might make you smile too. When I last was here a few hours ago I was feeling pretty relaxed and okay. I forgot I had a meeting as part of my school gig and from when I realised until now it has been totally hectic. I came home frazzled, overwhelmed and feeling fail. I saw this:
Last night one of mine was crackers. I suggested that they sit quietly and draw some kind of "zen" picture. Something calm that would help them chill out a bit. Apparently that was this (zen shark - pat him to be in zen mode) which is now living on the fridge for a while. It's probably my favourite drawing one of them has done for me for a while. I'd like to share this shark with you (and anyone reading along) hoping it gives you a little smile. Small things like this help me through the tough stuff a bit, even if they don't actually fix anything 😁🦈🧘‍♀️💕
