Re: Taking the plunge

It’s been so long since I was teaching and I love to hear how some of them have succeeded @Zoe7

Re: Taking the plunge

This class have been a great bunch of kids to teach @Former-Member but it is more the not being on a class again and back to the support role. That was okay for the first 2 terms while I found my feet again but I have really loved being back on a class.

Well, I hope things change for the better @Zoe7

Have you had other jobs, or just teaching

Re: Taking the plunge

I didn't start teaching until I was 30 @Former-Member so had a few jobs before that. I workered part time in 2 jobs for a while - as a research officer in one company and in crisis counselling and child support for a DV refuge. Then when I moved to Sydney I delivered the educational program for the MS Society in schools. When I came back to Tassie I took up a desk job for a little while before I travelled o/s and have been doing teaching since then.

Re: Taking the plunge

Sometimes I can @Former-Member I really enjoyed the MS gig - got to travel around to different schools, see a lot of the southern part of the state at the time and it really influenced my later decision to go into teaching. The refuge job whilst probably the most difficult was also rewarding. The reseach job was quite mundane and boring at times but good experience ...and was what I had studied an extra year for. Teaching is where my biggest passion is and that has come out again this term being on class.

Re: Taking the plunge

Good afternoon to you @Zoe7, hope you are doing alright. Thanks for letting me know about your old cat.

They are funny little critters. Our ginger is deaf and doesn't have many teeth left. She does really loud meows sometimes if she is in a hurry for toilet or tucker. It's nice parents found a companion, they spoil her silly, but I think they are both better off with her around.

Have a good evening and week ahead Zoe. I have got to run soon.

You have a good evening and week too @Gazza75 It is going to be a really busy one for me - lots of after school things to do this week and an extra day working on Thursday so it will be full on. Hope you can find some time for yourself too
