Re: Taking the plunge

Try and hold out to get your current one fixed @Former-Member . I didn't realise it was so warm where you are as its still pretty cool here in NSW. Warming up next week from the sounds of it though. No doubt it will be quite chilly out at the farm if I get there. It's always cooler through the winter and then significatly warmer in the summer lol 🙂

Are you doing anything tonight or over the weekend Mumi? Maybe you can do something with your daughter?

Re: Taking the plunge

Words seem to get me in trouble @Former-Member Must be very frustrating without a fridge operating. Have you thought about telling your daughter why you are so sad? And even why you have turned to the drink in an effort to cope? Shes clearly a smart girl, and would likely understand. She could be a useful ally. In fact would probably love a chance to help her mum, if given the opprtunity. 💜

Thanks btw for your lovely words @Gazza75 Very kind of you. Love the pics too. I know all about relying on tank water, having lived on a farm most of my life. Do you have a decent creek you can pump from if worse comes to worst?

I’ve tried to explain to her. But if I put too much pressure on her it’s dangerous for her so I’m f### @Former-Member @Gazza75

Re: Taking the plunge

Your welcome @Former-Member . I'm glad you liked the pictures to 🙂

I've a very good little creek at my place. Its a long way away and down from my house and would be quite diffucult to pump up from. Worst case I can pump from the 2 tanks on my machinery shed.

Now I don't have livestock and animals those 2 tanks are pretty much full all the time. The main trouble is I'm not catching all the water from the house any more as part of my pipes have fallen down so I'm only getting about 1/2 or less of what I should be getting. My own fault with that though.

I don't use much water anyway, i'm only there 2 days a fortnight these days.

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member, I can only suggest to keep your drinking to a minimum as you have been doing. You are very much a part of your daughters life as well Mumi.

Maybe you can slowly try and start doing more things together, even if its just sitting and talking, holding her.. whatever you are both comfortable doing. Find things that she wants to learn about or do.

Young people are inquisitive by nature. As @Former-Member said she can definitely be an ally and you can support and help each other.
