Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member I gathered the bear with sore head would be out and about. I must admit, I thought a few more days in hospital would be beneficial for both of you, but I'm guessing you are better at being bossed around than the professional nursing staff, they don't take kindly to it.

Back to a routine for yourself would be good, get out and about a little, plus the exercise is always good. Did you know there's a yoga thread, I'll tag you there, plus a walking thread where support if given in both. I'll tag you there also. Yes I do miss two people very much, time to leave home and expand. You too I guess, it's hard, very hard.

A beautiful day here, sun shining birds singing. Pushing myself outside trying to keep going. It's lovely seeing the garden growing regardless of what is thrown at it, daZi and I are loving it out there. It's nothing spectacular, but it's ours. I picked some pansies, labellias and some other flowers to press this morning. Hoping to make Christmas cards later.

Hoping to get some time off from nursing duties and relax a little. Does Holly still catch the odd rabbit????. Maggie has no hunting skills whatsoever. Yesterday a mouse popped in the door, I yelled, she looked wondering what on earth was going on. The mouse ran back out thank goodness. I have a mouse friendly trap so I can put them back outside safely. I recon this one knows his way around my flat!!!!!! Take care of yourself. Warm thoughts. 💖💖

Re: Taking the plunge

@Maggie, I love the music of Andre Rieu. Did I ever tell you that I went to a concert of his once? It was the year he toured Australia for the Stadium tour, must have been mid 2000's? We managed to get tickets to the Melbourne one. It was fantastic, quite a spectacular show in all respects. And very happy occasions. You know if you watch his shows on TV, you usually see some of the audience with happy smiles on their faces or dancing in the aisles? Well thats exactly what its like.

Yes there are a few I miss in particular, but for me there is no going back, bridges are burned. Unlike yourself, and I know you'd always be very welcome, and no reason at all why you cant. But yes, I suppose you're right in that its time to expand our horizons and take some tentative steps out into the big wide world.

Oh no, hubby was totally charming to the nursing staff! Except when he was delusional during which time he was abusive, aggressive, and thought they all had it in for him. They were plotting his demise according to hubby. If it wasnt really quite frightening, it would have been amusing. Thankfully he got through all that. But he switches the charm on and off at will, as is typical for narcissists I guess.

I will keep a look out for the tags to those threads you mentioned. Its been warm here today up until now, but I can hear thunder rumbling in the distance. And getting rapidly closer. Looks like the predicted storms are approaching and looking at the radar, they are likely to be around all afternoon and most of the evening. Could be severe, so I may have to shut down the computer and TV and unplug things around the house. Batten down. Something I've felt like doing mentally these past few weeks. Battening down and retreating. Although I know its not good for me, so I will persevere.

Yes Holly is still mad keen on rabbit hunting, although its a couple of weeks since she last caught one. She hunts mice too, of which there are quite a few around our outdoor bird aviary. I worry about her there though because where there are mouse holes, they can also attract snakes. And its snake weather now. So I try to discourage her from sniffing around there. I too have some of those mouse friendly traps which I have in the bird cage, as the usual traps would hurt the budgies. Holly has caught the occasional mouse in the house though, so she's a typical terrier, ie a vermin catcher.

I'm glad you and daZi have been enjoying your garden today in the sun and to the sound of birdsong. Pansies and lobelias are lovely flowers, simple and old worlde, but charming.

Enjoy the rest of your day Maggie. The rain has arrived here, so I'd best go.

Sherry xx

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member I was sitting here thinking how I feel like I'm in a bowling alley, me being one of the skittles. Every time I get up, here comes another ball full speed ahead to knock me down. It's hard @Former-Member, particularly hard for you right now with D being so unwell. I bet you wish it were you not her. You aren't upsetting anyone, please feel free to post wherever you feel comfortable talking. Have you managed to get any sleep yourself?? Have you managed to eat anything?? I don't know if you are at the hospital or home, wherever you are @Former-Member here for you. Please believe me when I say you are not a burden, we are all here with and for you no matter what. Sending a warm hug and thoughts.💔💔💔

Re: Taking the plunge

Thankyou @Maggie 💜💟
I've been absolutely sobbing.
My daughter and I had a huge argument.
It's all too much for both of us.
Then I remembered something that I realized has been holding me back. (One of the many things).
I thought I was over it, but then when I remembered it just before, I continued to sob.

When I was violently sexually assaulted when I was a teenager (by my ex brother's friend).
I went home sobbing and told my ex brother what happened and he didn't do anything about it. This guy was in his 20's, I was approx 14 and didn't know anything about sex etc.
I don't want it to affect me, but it does
It breaks my heart and hurts so much that a brother wouldn't protect his own sister.
Long story, but that's the small part of the story.
Thanks for being there.
I'll be ok. I was just surprised that it was still affecting me so badly.
This creep stalked me for years and I didn't know to go to the police.
