Re: Taking the plunge

Hi @Maggie ... sorry not to have replied until now. I have had essentially the past 2 days off the forums. I just needed a bit of a break I think. And others too .... sorry @Zoe7 @Shaz51 @Gazza75 @Faith-and-Hope .

@Former-Member I see that you had a really bad day yesterday. How are you feeling today? I note you thought that hospital could be an option for you. If you feel that way, then perhaps it is a good option. Please do not discount it, it could be just what you need right now. I so wish there was something I could say to make things right, or at least better, for you.

Yes @Maggie I am heading off to visit my Dad tonight. Catching the train a little after midnight, which will get me into my Dads small town around midday tomorrow. I will spend a week there. Less pressure this trip ... no need to get rooms and services organised for my Mum, no funeral arrangements to be done ... just some time with Dad. And go through all mums personal effects of course. I expect that could be somewhat difficult, but it needs to be done and dad is anxious to have it done asap. So done .. it will be.

I am so much missing my little Holly. I dropped her off to the lady who is looking after her at 4pm this afternoon. The house is so empty without her, no little dog following my every footstep, no warm soft puppy snuggled up alongside me. But I know she is going to be well looked after where I have left her. I think once I'm out of sight, she enjoys these visits. I do know she exerts her gentle authority on the other resident dogs when necessary. She can be subtly forceful my little girl. Ha ha.

No I didnt start to pack until after I dropped Holly off. She gets to stressed when she sees me bring out the bags and start to pack. So I have just finished now. Thinking I will go to bed and try to get a few hours sleep and set my phone alarm for 11.45pm. That will give me time to quickly change and await the taxi which I have already booked. I have packed a soft fleecy blanket in my carry on bag, although I dont expect to get any sleep unfortunately. My typical hypervigilance usually prevents that. But at least I can be as comfy and warm as possible.

Okay, so I expect to have internet access most of the time I'm away. So I will try to check in most days. Limited time is likely however, but evenings and early mornings most likely. I will be heading into some cold weather again, heavy frosts included. At least the snow which fell last weekend where I'm headed has now gone. Actually talking about frosts, we are meant to get one here the next couple of nights too.

Okay I need to rest my weary eyes, and hopefully a few hours sleep.

Sherry 💕

Re: Taking the plunge

Hi @Former-Member Not taking much in tonight but hoping your journey is okay later tonight. It is good that Holly likes where she is staying but so get that void they leave when they are not with you. She is one lucky puppy to have you as her mum Hon - not packing until she is away so you don't stress her

I will look out for you over the next week and reply when I can. Very much feeling exhausted tonight so heading to bed early. Will reply more later when I can focus better.

Safe travels Hon

Re: Taking the plunge

Thanks for thinking of me @Maggie @Zoe7 @Shaz51 @Gazza75 @Former-Member @eth

💜💖💖🌸🥰🌼🌻

Thinking of you all. No good news here, so haven’t felt like saying anything today.

As for hospital. I have done some research and am too scared to go in.

I have tried many medications over the years and they all cause me to feel worse. So I guess there’s no point going to hospital, as I don’t want to try any more medications. They have caused more problems for me and couldn’t cope with trying another one.

Nighty night all and take care. 💖

Re: Taking the plunge

All the best with the long train trip @Former-Member

Take care and try not to do too much. A huge emotional time for you, sorting through your mum’s things. 💖💜

Remember to do something nice for you. ☕️🌼🌸

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member I was thinking of you boarded your train last night/early morning. I felt that familiar ache when reading how you already miss Holly. 💜🐶 Such a tough time.

You said elsewhere other family members will be there also. I hope that is an ok experience, knowing your brother and family have been struggling for some time before your mum passed away.

I hope you get some rest over the coming week, I know sleep won’t happen often, or at all.

Sending thoughts your way, and lots of these. 💕💜💞☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member Sorry things continue to be difficult for you.

I too have tried all the meds without success, and had worse feelings from them, though I didn’t think it could get any worse. It did in different ways.

If you’ve looked into hospital and don’t feel it’s for you, you can’t do anymore than what you are doing. I do know well, that one small step can be too hard sometimes. For what it’s worth, I’m sitting with you if it’s helpful. 💕💞💕💞💜💜💜☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️

@Zoe7 I hope you managed some rest overnight, you have had a very busy week.

All the best with the reminder of the pom-poms, and construction. 💕💜💞💜💕☕️☕️☕️

Hi @Zoe7 @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Former-Member @outlander and anyone else around here this morning. Just passing through and wanted to send best wishes to all. Hope things are going well and sending support to those who want or need it.

Busy day out today with a support worker - water tai chi (which I still love) and then the GP for test results, script and new podiatry referral - hopefully to someone local this time who doesn't charge through the nose on top of the medicare rebate amount. I think I'm getting another Morton's neuroma in my other foot so need to have it assessed and probably new orthotics made. Costs a ridiculous amount but is necessary so I can get some exercise without pain and making it worse.
