Re: Taking the plunge
@Former-Member I hear what you are saying re being overwhelmed. I think what I was trying to say when I put up the song a few days ago is we are always trying to be GOOD... Good wives, mothers, sisters, volunteers etc. That's not a bad thing but we forget to be good to ourselves in the process and start to run on empty or nothing, that's when the GOOD goes wrong. My counsellor has a healthy self care plan/life, so she can continue to care for others. Self care is selfLESS not selfISH. I hear this intellectually, but still fail to put it into practice myself. I'm hoping you can do this being in the thick of things and stop the overwhelming process. I hope I'm making sense, I'm not good with words, but I feel from the depth of my being.
I'm feeling weak, I know it will all take time,,I think I might be impatient lol.
How did apps go today???
Sending warm thoughts. 💗💗💗

Re: Taking the plunge
Good evening @Maggie
The appts today went well - just a rountine health check and script repeats for my husband. He has cut down on some meds for pain and he feels better for it.
Your Counsellor has the right balance - if we don't look after ourselves we are no good for others. My immune system seems to have gone down hill, I am battling all types of physical symptoms presently as well as depression at the moment. I have picked up this evening, but I urgently need to get my sleep and rountine exercise in order. I only slept 5 hours last night. I am starting to go downhill again. I am disappointed but know that won't help me any - I just have to accept my limitations and work with it. Its frustrating - I am scared of letting others down, especially my daughter and husband. It hasn't been an easy time this week. Next week is just as full.....Also with Christmas coming up could be playing a role in my stress levels. Not a good time for me.
I was sorry to read that you still feel weak. How long have you been on the new mediation? I know what you mean about impatience, I am the same. Although everyone saids I must have a lot of patience to do cross stitch - it does not feel that way. I did get quite abit of stitching done today before the GP appt, so am pleased with how that is going. Hopefully sleep will be had for me tonight. Have you any plans for tomorrow? I think I may go for a walk along the beach to try and unwind all this pent up tension. Have a relaxing evening my friend 💕xx

Re: Taking the plunge
Hi @Former-Member
I really do understand what you said in your post to me - I also do understand what your husband's means too, but if it were my son in the same circumstances all I would want in the moment is to hear his voice....To know he was alive. That's how I would be. In other circumstances I possibly would do what your husband said, but this is different in my eyes. A mothers love can't let go....That's how it was for me, even though it was not healthy for me. That bond just doesn't disappear.... I admire you for voicing to your son the need for respect for his father. You are a very good woman......
I am drained. Am a little disappointed in myself as my circumstances have improved, apart from my husband's health. It may just take awhile for me to adjust...I don't want to let anyone down. Or myself is that makes sense.
I loved reading about the special moments you had with your younger son and helping at the pub.....making good memories. We all so need that for balance. I have made a couple with my younger daughter since she moved out that I will cherish. She is seeking out a psychologist...I think she really sees she needs help this time. It took this separation for her to realise....One day at a time for me right now. Sweet dreams my friend x
