@Shaz51 I'm good this evening! Thanks for asking! 🙂 It's HOT where I'm at. lol It's quite awful really but oh well! I just got back in from playing frisbee with my youngest dog. She loves it. The eldest one is still outside sniffing. 🙂 How is your day going?? 🙂

Hi @Maggie @PatchouliRose @Former-Member @Shaz51 @Former-Member ......

Lovely to read along with the adventures.

I am having another two moles removed next week, as a precautionary measure ..... they are in places where I can’t keep an eye on them and they are “the wrong sort” even though they are behaving themselves at the moment.

Grey haired, grey eyed, fair skinned person here ......

Re: Taking the plunge

Ha ha, very nice @Faith-and-Hope. I must admit that my once rich auburn/red hair is laced with a little bit of silver these days. Yes it pays to be careful with moles and other growths. Best to be on the safe side. My husband's melanoma is a case in point. I recall being concerned about the mole on his back shoulder and telling him to ask his GP about it. She said it was fine and nothing to worry about. That was almost 12 months before she finally decided she was concerned about a different mole and did a biopsy on it, and just as a cursory precaution she did the one I was concerned about as well. Turns out the one she said was fine before, was melanoma. If they had got it when I first asked and cut it out, it may never have had the chance to spread to his lungs and a diagnosis of incurable Stage IV cancer. So you can really never be too careful. I guess I am a bit paranoid about it these days. Hence my all over check a few weeks ago which resulted in this one being cut out. Actually my eye is closing up from the swelling now, hope it goes down soon.

How's everyone's day going? @Maggie @PatchouliRose @Former-Member @Shaz51. Miserable old day here.

Sherry

That is heart-breaking @Former-Member ...... 💜💐💜💐💜💐💕

My melanoma was caught early and removed swiftly, for which I am exceedingly grateful, but hence the precautionary removals.

@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope I'm a very visual person, so your discriptions brought a smile. Grey hair, hazel eyes, fair skin here. I think it's the Irish skin, it was never meant to be exposed to the Australian sun. I've never been one for sitting in the sun either, so surprised at the skin cancers I have had.

@Former-Member That is so sad about your husbands diagnosis. I would have been annoyed at the neglect from medical professionals.

Beautiful day here today after a white frost. I have one paver in the ground, 3 to go.

@Former-Member Thinking of you today, hoping for a tiny improvement on yesterday, but if not, warm thoughts hopefully momentarily help.

@PatchouliRose I saw some pics of your dogs playing one another thread. They are beautiful. I hope your day was quieter once volume was lowered.

House Rules again tonight, chips and blanket ready @Former-Member and anyone else.

Thanks for message @Maggie @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope

I’ve been blubbering on the not coping thread this afternoon. 😫😢

Might feel up to replying more later.

Yes, home and away and house rules, but no chips. 😯

Re: Taking the plunge

I had a itsy bitsy tiny mole on my right side boob. I noticed it because it wasn’t there a month previously. Went to the dr and asked her to look at it and she said it was fine. I said really? Because it wasn’t there a month ago. So she looked again and decided to do a scraping I think. 2 days later she called me and said to get right in as it was pre cancerous melanoma. I had gone from a tiny barely visible spot to a pea size in one month. I know it was from a tanning bed. 1 year ago previously, I had used them for a cruise I was going on and I’d never used them before.

Im blonde, (bottle now) blue eyed, fair skinned.

It’s pretty scary.

Re: Taking the plunge

Yeah, they are @Bluetoo.

The one that transitioned for me came up when I was 14 - 15 years old and stayed relatively unchanged until I was 37. I even asked to have it removed when I was around 19 years old, and a dermatologist told me that it was benign (which it was then) and would leave a big ugly scar if he were to cut it out.

When I was 37 I lost my Mum to a rare illness. We didn’t see it coming, and I think the trauma of that triggered the melanoma, because I went to a dermatologist for some skin lesions that were coming up ..... likely from stress ..... and he said he was t worried about them, but he was worried about that .... and what he was pointing to was my mole which was just out of view on my arm. I pulled on my arm to see what he was talking about, and the mole had doubled in size and half had changed colour.

We were overseas, about to head home, and by the time I saw a specialist here three weeks later it had started to spread at two points. It was a close call for me too .....
