Re: Taking the plunge

Yummo @Maggie 😋 - there goes my diet lol!!! 😅 Who diets at Christmas anyway. Did you have a good time? I hope so.

I had a rough day yesterday grieving over my friend - he has two years tops to live according to the specialists. It hit hard and shocked me. His wife is very strong presently so that has helped me. Unfortunately it is part of life and it is what it is. I am learning to cope better with what life throws at me (fingers crossed). Its short anyway and everything passes. That's my thinking at the moment - it's helping. I think with having the stress lifted from my daughter living with me, is allowing my mind to heal a little. I have good days and bad...

There is nothing I can do to change it, I have realised that and acceptance has come to me. I am still praying for either a miracle (but if it's his time that won't be answered) and/or pray for his pain to ease till the end. I am visiting them regularly and we still have our nice chats and some laughs. I am trying to keep it as normal as possible for him.

I hope the party has lifted your spirits abit my friend. You deserve some reprieve and a life, we are meant to live it - and I would like to see (or hear) that you are feeling better as I care - even just some moments of peace, hope and contentment is what happiness is to me. No one can be happy all he time. I am learning to appreciate the little things more each day and that has calmed me also.

While I was praying this morning I saw through my window finches and lorikeets frolicking in the bushes - it put a real smile on my dial, I felt the peace of nature and meditative prayer (I say the rosary). It was nice.

I am coming close to finishing my cross stitch "Heaven's Gate" - with my Willy in it (Willy wagtail). Another couple of weeks and it should done. It's very detailed and colourful - pretty. I will post a pic when done. How is the garden going?

It cooled off here yesterday and today - so I have cleaned the house and am now off to do the rest now while I can. Tomorrow is going to be another scorcher 😩. Thinking of you all. Lots of love to you too @Former-Member - thank you for your wonderful support. I am a person that never forgets such kindness. Hope everyone who is reading is having a better day too 🤗❤️

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member It must be very hard supporting your friend and his wife, relief from pain would help everyone as well as himself. Sometimes all you can do is be there, listen and support. I think we all know answers are few and far between, but someone who stands with us if worth more than gold.

The party today was lovely, along with a good chat to my rock. She, like us all, would move mountains if we could, unfortunately, some mountains stand firm. It's a rough ride for me right now. I think a big part of the problem is there's deep sadness that I remember without being able to remember. I know that makes no sense to most, I know without knowing and it hurts. I know memory loss is the brains protection, but it still releases enough to get the jest of what happened.

@Former-Member OMG I have said so many rosaries in my life!!!!! Do you have the rosary beads?????Some are beautiful. Your pic in my mind praying this morning was peaceful. I usually sit for an hour listening to the birds, and if a sunrise graces my vision, it doesn't get much better than that in my eyes.

Looking forward to seeing the finished cross stitch. My Irish greeting is coming along. I ran out of cotton, but have some now. I hope to finish soonish.

We are very cool here and it's just turned very windy. I have some pavers to put down where it get muddy during rainy periods, gosh they are heavy!!!! The garden is doing well. I had to remove the passionfruit as it was growing from beneath the graft, that meant it was a banana passionfruit, a big weed problem. Just returned home with a new one. Now I have to buy a liver...yuk, yuk. Double yukkk. Looks like I will be busy in the garden while you are eating Christmas lunch. I didn't think I had that much conversation in me... You take care and try to spend more time with your finches and lorikeets, and those rosary beads, I kinda miss some rituals.

Hi @Former-Member@@@Former-Member and anyone else reading.💓💓💕💕💜💜

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member I might have shared this song with you before, but wondered if tomorrow morning, if you are up to listening during your prayer time, only if you want to. I've been listening to this lady sing for 40 yrs now, sometimes this is all I can listen to, this one song really touches my heart.

Re: Taking the plunge

Hi @Maggie - that's so true, all I can do is be there and pray in my private time for them. You are also right about those who stand by us - isn't such people hard to find? They are worth their weight in gold. Such people mean everything to me. I do hope my daughter finds them when either I can't be there or am no longer part of this earth.

Thats wonderful that you had such a good time and chat to your social worker 😀Sounds like you two have really connected. That's a magic feeling, nothing can match it. Probably why you feel more chatty today - which is great!!

I do relate to not having full recollection of the past, being mostly my childhood and not being able to connect emotions with memories. Sounds like a good plan you have for Christmas - working in nature. What a lovely way to spend it. Maybe treat yourself as well - not sure if you drink at all but maybe just one glass of wine and some good music to soothe those nerves would be a good way to celebrate the birth. Or some food treats and a good DVD or similar?

Adter the dinner lunch my daughter has invited us back to hers for a BBQ. Thankfully the weather is predicted to cool off on Christmas Day thank goodness. Extreme heat does not bring out the cheer in me at all. I can really struggle.

Oh wow, your sunrise with the birds - I would love that. Unfortunately I am not up that early. I usually can't sleep before 1:00am. Hopefully one day I will get my body clock back in order to do that again - especially when I move by the sea.

Yes, I have these gorgeous purple glass rosary beads. Will try and get a photo and post it tomorrow. Pavers are heavy - please be careful not to injure yourself.

Thank you for the beautiful song - I loved it. Definitely will have that on in the background when I say my rosary tomorrow. I could not bring properly for awhile - this is the first rosary I have said for ages. I missed it too. Very peaceful and much needed presently. I will try and put some pics up of my cross stitch ocean coloured fabric, beads, mthreads and metallics tomorrow too - lots of blitz. Have a lovely evening my friend. Sending a warm virtual hug 🤗

Hi @Maggie@Former-Member@utopia@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@Bunniekins@Shaz51 and all. Hope you are all travelling okay today.

@Maggie - below is the photo I said I would post of my hand dyed blue linen - and lying on top is "my stash" of beads, metallic threads and cottons that I will use to stitch the photo in the centre "Mermaid of The Deep Blue" for my daughter. Should be real pretty when done
