Re: Taking the plunge
Yes I get lonely and often wish for connections with others. Unlike you, I don't do anything about it.
Many times I've wished we could have a Forum Party in real life - where we get to meet our friends here. Just imagine the laughs.

Re: Taking the plunge
Hi @Maggie and @utopia
Thats a good idea @Maggie. Once I settle into my new home I may just start a meet up group of my own. And incorporate interest activities such as writing, craft, outings and gardening etc. Making it varied. What do you think. The worst thing that could happen is that no one will be interested - and what have I lost? May just gain a few fun times or meet a few interesting people. Nothing venture nothing gained I say. What do you think @utopia? Any ideas of what to call it and to describe it that you think will be appealing to other ? (new meet up groups do get advertised) Any suggestions would be appreciated.
@Former-Member@Former-Member@Former-Member@Bunniekins- what do you think of this idea?
Having a quiet one and stitching today. The upcoming week will be very busy so am making the most of my leisure time for now.
Watching the sunrise with the birds is something I do enjoy - would of been wonderful. What are you up to now @Maggie?

Re: Taking the plunge
Could start a group on facebook perhaps. Or put up a flyer up in the shop where you do voluntary work. I'd come. 😊
Hi everyone
Way too tired to tag, sorry.
Not much sleep
Big clean up day

@Former-MemberI think that is a lovely idea. Would be a great way to share you passion with people who like those things too and meet some new people in a social setting.

Re: Taking the plunge
Hi @Former-Member, really pleased that the party was such a success. I had no doubts on that score actually, I had thought you would have everything organised beautifully. Always a relief however when well laid plans go to script though. So you can relax now, and take a well earned break. Well done!
@Maggie, yes my brother is a concern right now, its true. For him its a day to day, or week to week, thing and his ability to cope shifts regularly. Definitely Christmas is a very difficult time for him and his wife, not having their little girl there, their youngest child and only girl. And thats another reason I feel guilty for not being able to be there this year for christmas. However he knows I'm only a phone call away, and he does ring me regularly. I guess in reality there isnt much more I could do if I were there anyway, that I cant from here. Thanks so much for the lovely sunrise you gave us this morning. I imagined the birdsong - beautiful in my imagination, and no doubt even better in reality. Please give little Maggie-May a cuddle and tell her its from me. I know she is highly unlikely to accept it from me directly.
@Former-Member I think that is a wonderful idea, I really do. The best way to get a group of like-minded people into your circle, and to get to know some of them a little better without any pressure on anyone. Now I cant wait for you to move into your new home!
As to what to call it, I dont know. But I will give some thought to it. I also like the idea someone else meantioned here to add a walking component to it. I dont recall, you have a dog do you? Perhaps a dog walking group, combined with the arts and crafts. So a bit of everything, gives you a wider audience.
@Bunniekins @Former-Member @utopia @Catcakes @TAB, lovely to see you all this morning. Hope your day is going well?
I am planning on watching the Womens T20 match this afternoon between Sydney 6ers and Sydney thunder. I'm a Sixers fan, but my husband is a Thunder fan. Same in the Mens version of the game. We have some lively discussions about the cricket at times.
