Re: Taking the plunge
Hi @Maggie - so glad to read that you are doing some more cross stitch. It is relaxing and rewarding. I didn't win a prize or anything - I put up pics of my cross stitches to share with the group and the admin liked my Carousel Horse and asked if they could use it as their Cover page for the group, I think because the colours were so eye catching to many. It's such a lot of fun sharing and talking with other members.
The church service ended up being a vigil - not many people were there so I did not end up staying. Was a little disappointed to be honest. I was hoping for more.....I am looking for something new to become part of now as a new beginning. Not sure if that makes sense to everyone....I didn't really have much opportunity to really live when daughter was residing with us because of all her issues and dramas. So now I am searching for new horizons. A new beginning. Meeting people looking for the same in my approx age group is like winning the lottery.
This is so typically me, even though shy and not always successful, like tonight, something drives me. Sometimes I wish it did not and I could be content being alone. My husband is sick most of the time and that is draining. But no, I would like to mingle again - I had so much fun meeting people when I lived in the country but it's so hard to find here. Where are all the wonderful people looking for the same?????? So hard to find that level of friendship - although I do have some good friends at my volunteering, they are busy people. I get lonely for people. Heaven knows why after what I have been through..but I have had some very positive experiences of friendship with people at times as well. It was nice. I wish it could be like it was in my dream - magic connection. That's only in the next life I think.
I wish I could meet up with someone like you and others on here for coffee - could you imagine the conversations lol!! And we would appreciate each other I feel. Yes, I am a dreamer. Getting nowhere on the new social scale presently but I haven't given up yet. I do get up to mischief 😉
Talking of mischief - what do you do in the middle of the night haha? I know exactly what you mean about having to get back into things hoping the mood lifts. I do that most of the time - I push, push, push. And still feel I don't achieve much. It does help lift the mood I find, I can still feel low but if I don't do things the mood worsens. Even though my day was a total failure, I tried.
So glad to see you back on here chatting @Maggie.
Hope everyone's evening has been good - you are all probably asleep now while I am rambling away haha. My thoughts and heart are with you @Faith-andHope@Former-Member@Catcakes@Former-Member@utopia@Bunniekins@TAB@Faith-and-Hope@Former-Member and all ❤️

Re: Taking the plunge
And others on here.
I've been hiding in my bedroom 😂😂
Party still going on outside.
They're noisy, not that I mind, but the neighbours 😑😀
Oh well, the neighbours have had their noisy parties too.
Storm started at 7pm, same time as party. I just lit all the candles on the pergola and in the gazebo and said to D, don't worry the storm will go. 😮😣😨 it was a beauty. Gazebo start to blow away , but no way was I giving uo, after all the organising.
Storm lasted approx an hour
We moved chairs etc.
And now there's no rain.
Never give up 😀😀😀😀😀
Gosh though, I'm so exhausted
My heart feels odd etc, but party was/is a success .
I get pleasure in peeping through the window at them dancing and laughing. Lol
Thinking of you all @enigma @Maggie @Former-Member @utopia @Faith-and-Hope @Shaz51 and all here. Hi there @TAB 👀👋😺
Hard trying to remember who to tag.
I need something to calm down.
Hope everyone is ok. 😙💜

Re: Taking the plunge
@Former-Member So many tragic circumstances in one family, it's hard to comprehend the suffering you are feeling moment by moment. And yes, it might be the last Christmas for some, which you can't share with. For so many and for many different reasons, Christmas is such a sad season. Your niece and brother will also be weighing heavily on your mind. Why is it some people have to go through so much??
Im sitting here just after 5am having watched a colourful sunrise and listening to a choir of birds. I'll share the pic later, but what I'm thinking of is something @Former-Member said in her post, " Wouldn't it be nice if we could all meet for coffee and a chat" . We would all get you @Former-Member and stand with you. There's one thing for sure, this group don't back off from pain and suffering. I know you don't have anyone in the real world to lean on, everyone is relying on you. If you can @Former-Member lean on us.

@Former-Member I wish I could add the birds singing, but close your eyes and imagine for a moment.

Re: Taking the plunge
@Former-Member I admire you for giving it a try. Do you have any writing groups in your area? Or cross stitch classes, you could teach people how it's done, maybe start you own. You mentioned to me about gardening groups some time ago and I know you love your garden.🌷🌺🌻 It's nice you are finally finding time for you. I would love to meet everyone for a coffee and chat, I wish it was the real world, but in saying that I get a shiver down my back of, what if they wouldn't like me either!! Oh well bottoms up !!!!!!! You know what I can do in the dark.lol.
Just after 6am here and I've had a lovely time sitting with birds and a sunrise. Pic 👀⬅️🎶
Thinking of @Former-Member after her party last night. I'll bet she's 💤 sleeping in this morning. Well done @Former-Member you deserve a big clap for a mighty effort, storm mixed in as well.💤💤💤
