Re: Taking the plunge
Maybe for the next occasion which causes you grief like that you can substitute a huge bag of Jellybeans or chocolate frogs or something ..... maybe liqueur chocolates ..... so it changes the go-to behaviour slightly.

Re: Taking the plunge
Cross stitching sounds like a goid way to switch off
I'm glad you have that.
How's hubby since the last epidural ?
I'm trying to take things slow.
Catching up on washing
Not raining so far, but more rain predicted.
Have to go to kmart later.
Buy more outdoor chairs and last minute things
I'd better get moving
Wondering if you're ok @Maggie 💜
You've had alot on lately, with appointments etc.

Re: Taking the plunge
I thought so too, lol.
Lollies don't quite work, but I appreciate the suggestion.
Need something to calm the anxiety.
Meds (prn) cause too much drowsiness. Depression type 😮
I'll be ok thanks.
It's the after feelings that knock me
💕

Re: Taking the plunge
Hi again @Former-Member ![]()
Thanks for asking after hubby. He has had some relief but not as much as he did a few years back when he had the last injection. They may give him yet another at a later date.....he is doing all he can to avoid back surgery.
We had some rain yesterday afternoon and last night. It did cool the temps off for awhile - just bliss. Cross stitch is my passion and great for switching off. I am part of an international online cross stitching group and to give you an example of its benefits; - I had a few friends who lived in Florida when the flood etc struck this year. They were given warnings to evacuate - my Florida friends showed photos of all the cross stitch gear they were packing to take with them in the car to help them get through it when travelling and at the shelters. That was one of their priorities. Quite amazing. It's very calming. Something creative like craft etc may help you at times with your anxiety?
Hope your trip to Kmart went well. It is good to take things slow when the body is recovering from illness - you will know your limitations. When I was trying to give up alcohol many years ago I remember slipping up when upset. Then I decided to not let them win - if I drank they are winning. That thinking made me dig my heals in more. Yes, I can be a stubborn Enigma lol. Have a great day 💕
@Former-Member - I hope you are feeling a bit better 🌹
@Maggie - I hope you are okay and busy in a good way. ❤️

Re: Taking the plunge
Sad to hear of your husband's illness and pain. Hard for you to see.
I used to do lots of different crafts, including cross stitch. 😀
For a long time now, I rarely can do any craft etc. I try every now and again, but get so discouraged, because of lack of energy and depression. Hard to snap out of it.
I've been doing crafty things a little this week. Yesterday I painted a little coffee table and put a round sparkly table mat on top. Woolah! New table. 😀
I've actually surprised myself @utopia
I've had a bottle of Kahlua for a very long time I had a tiny glass the other day and didn't feel I needed more. Amazing.
Not sure about socialising though.
I think I'll be fine.
Will let you know 😊

@Former-Member How clever your are -Enigma- being able to sew ... I wish I could sew and knit ... the closest I get to sewing and knitting is buying a dress or a jumper from the shops.
