Re: Taking the plunge
@Former-Member Sorry I've taken so long to reply, I was hit by another bowling ball yesterday. Your poor D @Former-Member she would have been in so much pain. Good on her work mates for cheering her, and you, she is a good girl, someone you sure can be proud of. I can imagine how worried you are, that helpless feeling is awful. I hope today is better for you all. Did you manage to get some sleep???
@Former-Member Lunch sounds like it went better than you expected and the chocolate slice and frozen custard sounds delicious. I guess small amount of energy will make hubby tired, you will have been busy taking care of him after lunch, no break for you.
Yes counsellor this morning will be good, then dr this afternoon to see results fron CS and what next. Maggie won't go near anyone but me, but does allow my counsellor to pat her from a distance. She's the most fearful little dog you could imagine, I can only imagine how hard life has been for her. But with me, she's confidant and the best friend ever.
I don't know if cricket is on today ( the lads haven't mentioned it ) but if it is, I hope you put your feet up and enjoy.
@Former-Member I will have to give the avocado seed a go. So it's a fruit???? How are you and D going???? Today no more rain here, sloshy under foot now. I don't have to water the garden these days.
@utopia I hope your neighbors let you sleep last night. I've seen pics on tv of the wet in Melbourne, how hard for people just before Christmas, anytime really.
@Phoenix_Rising Thankyou so much. I will work through them all. Hope the ocean settles today.
@Faith-and-Hope Hope your life is drifting by reasonably well.

Re: Taking the plunge
Hi @Maggie. Hit by a bowling ball? Not good at all. Hope today is better for you, and that your counsellor appointment proves to be most beneficial. Sounds like a full day for you today, with your counsellor this morning and Dr this afternoon. Hopefully the Scans uncover whatever the problem may be with your sinuses and that the ENT specialist will be able to fix things up, including the broken nose. Poor little Maggie-May she does sound very fearful. My Holly is initially very suspicious of strangers, but she warms to them very quickly, and then she is all over everyone. Which is why she is no problem at all to take to the nursing home or other places. Your Maggie-May is very definitely a one-person dog, and is extremely lucky to have you. Yes Maggie, tell 'the lads' that the cricket is still on today. Its looking like it may go the full 5 days at this stage. So it is likely to be on through to Wednesday. Unfortunately it finished a bit early last night because of rain in Adelaide. This test is a day/night test, using a pick ball instead of the usual red ball.
Speaking of rain, we have some light rain here this morning. Its nice. We are likely to get more throughout the day and again tomorrow. So I will have that chance to dance in the rain yet!
@Former-Member - I have started to grow an avocado from the seed once, and it had sprouted nicely. Unfortunately it didnt 'take' when I put it out in the garden. I should try again sometime. Do you use the toothpicks into both sides and have it suspended over the water, in a cup or something? Or perhaps there is some more successful method that I'm not aware of.
@utopia - So very annoying having neighbours like that. I'm lucky where I live we have very few neighbours, as its all 3-10 acre blocks in this area. And we are at the end of a road, with no through traffic. And no noisy neighbours thankfully.
@Former-Member - How is your daughter this morning? And how are you? Hope you got some rest overnight.
Hello to @CheerBear @Faith-and-Hope and others.

I'll leave you with how to grow an avocado from seed

Re: Taking the plunge
@Former-Member I've never seen that done before but can't wait to try, the avocado seed I mean. I put some portulaca in my garden recently, should be lovely with the pig face. Enjoy the cricket, I'm off the hook for today.lol
Yes Maggie-May shakes like a leaf if anyone approaches, I feel for her, but it doesn't happen too often as we are home bodies. Our rain has eased and when I looked at the garden this morning, there seemed to be massive growth overnight.
Take care @Former-Member

Re: Taking the plunge
Good luck with the avocado growing then @Maggie. Portulaca is lovely. All colours are they? And pigface has to be one of my all time favourite flower plants. I also love Freesias because they used to be my Mums favourite plants when I was a little girl. I remember borrowing some money from my Dad and buying some freesia's for mothers day once.
Isnt it amazing how some warm weather and lovely rain brings on the garden growth. Almost overnight, as you say.
My nearest neighbours are away in Sydney for the week and I am taking care of their mail and gardens in their absence. They have a fabulous vege garden. I just returned their rubbish bins from the street, and found a beautiful crop of green beans just begging to be picked. The neighbours insisted I take whatever was ready and that I could use. So ... lovely fresh beans will be a part of whatever I decide to have for dinner tonight.
Poor little Maggie-May. I think chihauhau's are generally very timid in nature anyway, but no doubt she has had a very traumatic life before you rescued her. Holly has more of the fox terrier in her than chihauhau, and is generally more curious than afraid when confronted with people she doesnt know.
I had another visit from the little ringtail possum last night. Just wandering the deck last night around midnight I was, and look up ... who should be there but the possum. Just peering down at Holly and I. Didnt seem the least bit concerned. And Holly seems to just accept it now as being part of the furniture. Can obviously identify it as not being a rabbit or a rat, and therefore not to be 'hunted'. So is interested, but not overly so any more. Which is good.
Yes @Maggie, you take care also. And I hope your meetings and appointments go well today.
Sherry xx

Re: Taking the plunge
Thank you @Maggie and @Former-Member for asking after my daughter. She is in a great deal of pain, so am going over now to assist her then I will be visiting my friends (male who has lung cancer). Then I am off to the doctors - hubby is ill again. I am exhausted but have to push as others depend on me. At the moment would love to disappear to the bush 😀. Hope the counselling session goes well @Maggie - look forward to hearing about it.Hope hubby feels better today @Former-Member. Thinking of you all @CheerBear@Faith-and-Hope@Former-Member and everyone. Must fly and will pop back on tonight ❤️Xx

Re: Taking the plunge
I know what you mean about worrying about her. It's hard not to, but it's so good to hear that she's working and is on the right track.
Onwards and upwards.
I hope her knee heals quick.

Re: Taking the plunge
D and I are ok thanks. Both still exhausted, fighting off flu symptoms.
We haven't really rested.
Have so much to do and trying hard not to stress.
I just put the avocado seeds in separate pots with potting mix @Former-Member 💕
No special tricks, they just grew.
One of them is approx half a metre high. I'm waiting for them to grow bigger before they go in the ground.
Kent pumpkin seeds, I just planted in the ground. 😊
Raining lots here.
I don't feel like shopping for a dryer 😮😣
