Re: Taking the plunge
Hi @Maggie
How was your day? I didn't do any cross stitch - my daughter collapsed at work - apparently her knee gave way (just popped out). My husband was just walking into her place of work to pick her up when it happened. He said the staff, manager and customers were really good to her, looking after her really well until the ambulance arrived. They were having a Christmas party (she works in the club), with all the regular club goers and according to my husband they all stood up and cheered and clapped my daughter when she was carried out on a stretcher - the manager yelling out to my husband "look after her, she is a good one". Wow, she is so well liked and respected. Most of these people she works with and serves are a lot older than her so that was a real compliment.
But I am sitting here worried alone - still no word from the hospital as to her condition (whether she is having surgery or not). So waiting, waiting and shedding a tear or two. I am wondering when my family will ever get a break from hospitals, illness and trauma. So not the greatest of days, feeling low - hope your day was better @Maggie.
Hope the lunch date went well @Former-Member
Hope you get some peace tonight @utopia - what an inconsiderate neighbour. You may have to speak to the real neighbour who is letting this hoon live on his front lawn....not sure that is legal with council full time???? They wouldn't want too many complaints I could imagine for that reason, so may help to talk with the owner if it continues.

And Google says that avocado is a berry, @Maggie
That was a surprise to me also. I thought it was a fruit. 😮😀
Oh wow! @Former-Member
Sorry to hear about your daughter.
I hope you hear soon, how she's going.
Sounds painful.
Good that she's well liked at work.

Re: Taking the plunge
Hi @Former-Member @Maggie and thanks for asking about todays lunch.
It was okay actually, a nice lunch. And the chocolate brownie with frozen custard was a hit. So that was good. I must admit that it was pretty damned good. I was happy with it.
Hubby got very tired and wasnt feeling well, so we didnt stay for very long. Which suited me nicely.
Gee sorry to hear about all the drama with your poor daughter today @Former-Member. Hopefully she'll be fine and fully recover very quickly. Isnt it lovely that she is obviously so well respected and loved by all at her workplace. Good on her, and well done you!
@Maggie, I hope tomorrow is a great day for you, with your long awaited meeting with your social worker / counsellor. Does she get on well with Maggie-May?
Sorry I havent been around much today, been busy, and basically worn out I guess. And worried about hubby. I did manage to watch some of the test cricket though, which was nice.
So to all those I havent caught up with today @Former-Member @Phoenix_Rising @utopia - sorry I missed you through the day. Hopefully I'll see you around over the coming days. Take care everyone.
Off to bed.
