Thanks for your suggestion @Former-Member but my sleep issues are far more complex than just having meds to help me sleep

I understand now, I have terrible Night Terrors I scream in my sleep sometimes. Also nightmares about my past & the abuse. I hate them so much, I try to stay as centred as possible, & forgive the abusers, so that I don't have too many of those dreams. When I'm sick like I am now, I get such detailed amazing dreams like it is happening to me. People & places I used to live around. Yet I never lived like & where I dream I have?
I don't like it, but I can not seem to stop them? so I just think to myself, ok it's just a dream it did not happen. Them try to distract my thoughts to stop thinking about it.
Also if I am in my bed I will have the Night Terrors, If I sleep in the Lounge room I don't? Strange hey? 😞

No it isn't strange to me @Former-Member I sleep predominantly on the couch when I can sleep - bed is a trigger for me

@Former-Member @Zoe7 bed use to be a massive trigger for me too. It still is but being in another house with all new furniture helped me abit.

I think you should @Former-Member - it is a pretty big thing if you can't sleep - can have flow on effects for every aspect of your life - I know this too well
My GP and pdoc have both been trying to help. Initially I saw a psychologist but that didn't help at all - actually made it worse. The meds I have now have decreased my night time anxiety but the flashbacks come as soon as I lay down. They aren't every night at the moment but the fear of them and the nightmares - and the general fear of sleeping - are constant. We have tried alot of different things but most of them are triggering also - it really is a very complex issue for me
