The Community Garden :)

The Community Garden :)

Being outside and enjoying the beautiful plants and flowers that are about is definitely something that's keeping me going at the moment, so I thought it might be nice to grow our own garden here where we can all enjoy it.

Please add any pictures, links, chats about anything you're enjoying in your garden, have found on a walk, wish you had in your garden etc. Or just enjoy wandering around 🙂

@Former-Member We have this weeping woman statue in our courtyard surround by small shrubs. I think she looks beautiful in it.

@Former-Member those Trumpet Lilies are so lovely, their fragrance is incredible. had them on the childhood living place. So poisonouse though too. Long time since I've seen them.

@Bunniekins that statue is lovely, very emotionally evocative.

The scent of the trumpets waff through the entire house in the evening when they let off their heavenly perfume @Former-Member - they are my absolute favourites. I don't let children near them - I am careful when pruning, never had an issue. The colours that bloom on them are stunning. They like being under the shade of other trees/shrubs with dabbled sunlight I find. Your childhood place sounds lovely 😊

oooh, the garden looks lovely where you trimmed up the tree @Former-Member and your statue @Bunniekins.

My devil's ivy i planted in November last year has taken off and is growing about a foot of growth a month!
November.... when I planted it and now...

@MoonGal Hi MoonGal 😄 I know some people hate ivy but I really like it. It is very old fashioned and I like the look of it.

Re: The Community Garden :)

@Former-Member I'd love to have the fragrance through the house again at night. how lovely. Sorry, did not mean to imply you would not have been careful with them, simply a remembrance of how the dangerousness was implanted in my memory. Ours were white only, I did note yours seemed to be yellow, coloured ones are so so pretty.

There were some nice things about the childhood residence, not that many, mostly the nature stuff. Gooseberries and yellow raspberries growing wild, but which, as a weed, were then poisoned. sigh.

@MoonGal I am trying to get Devil's Ivy for some indoor plants but I am unable to buy it any where here. I think it might be a declared weed in this area, I will have to investigate that. I want a plant to grow inside in water if anyone has any suggestions. Airconditioning, some light, can be moved to get its needs met.

I have ordinary Ivy in a bottle and it 'seems' to be doing okay so far, not sure if it will continue to do so. The Maidenhair fern is on it's last legs I think, although I might have just saved it by putting it in the bathroom. It has 2 new tiny fronds this morning.

Must away, stuff needs doing.
