This week the Forums celebrated it's 1 year anniversay!

Together as a community we have reached -

- Over 1500 members

- Started 1301 discussions (well 1302 after this post )

- Responded 18,762 times

Above and beyond the numbers, together we have created a place where people feel supported, encouraged and comfortable to share their tough times and achievements.

What a huge achievement!

To mark the occasion, we thought we would start this discussion as a place where you can celebrate other members on their achievements - big or small!

We've had members achieve a variety of things - getting a new jobs, finishing courses and taking steps forward in their mental health. As a group we have supported each other, shown kindness and stood up against adversity.

So here is our new space - a space to celebrate other members for their achievements and give them a big high five!

Hi @Ellu,

I thought your post on valuing yourself was really positive. I must admit I cringed a bit because I struggle with this but I know how important it is to find the positives in ourselves. I still have a long way to go with this and it is a good thing to be reminded of it. I also wanted to say welcome to the community and it is really lovely to read your very supportive posts around the place. Best wishes 💜🤗

Thank you for your comments. I am relatively new to the forums, and I am a bit different because I come from a background where I am bi-polar and had my first episode at the age of 15 (I am 63 now). So I have been living with mental illness for 47 years... my heart bleeds whan I read some of the posts from people going through a really bad time, and I want to try to help. No, I am not a health professional, but I do have a fair amount of lived experience to draw on. I hope I can make some friends here and enjoy the mutual support given by people in these forums.

I was particularly impressed by your acknowledgement of @Getting2's brave steps along a rough road here - I especially liked the way you understood the painful experience of self-loathing and encouraged him to be gentle with himself.

For my final celebration of 2016, I wanted to thank ALL of you - whether you have posted once or thousands (yes, thousands) of times, each of you have helped this community thrive.

I know I can speak on behalf of mods when I say that we feel quite privlidged to read your stories and your experiences each day.

Because of each of you, someone else doesn't have to feel alone and isolated going through their challenges.
