Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

Hey @Former-Member - you've been busy today. Remember how you are supposed to be taking it easy whilst you recover??

Your girl is always going to be in your heart and these little things remind you how much love there was. It's a beautiful thing albeit a sweet sorrow. I remember being behind someone in a checkout line that had the same hair and a similar shirt to my Dad. I so much wanted to hug him 😥

Must have been hard to gather up the dog stuff but lovely that it went to a good home. I'm sure it would be appreciated. Hope you get the hot water sorted and that it can just be repaired.

Nice that things are moving along for your son. Sounds like he has a lot of enthusiasm. I really hope he makes a success of it. How is his arm?

Take care ❤️❤️🐦

Hi @Former-Member wow you are on a roll! very impressive. You must be pleased for your son that he is moving ahead with his career. You must also be pleased with yourself with what you have done around your house today. I hope you have a great nights rest. Take care from @1stepup61

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

@Former-Member - your picture made me laugh so hard - I snorted. Lol. I'm always finding my lists days or weeks after I needed them.
You have been so busy and it sounds like it's paying off with furniture going out and a trailer full again.
You are inspiring.

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

Thanks @ utopia, how are you? 💕 Glad I made you laugh. "LAUGHTER IS MEDICINE TO THE SOUL" ☺ Actually, with lists, I'm so good at losing them that I'm starting to wonder if writing them is a form of procrastination 😱 lol. Nice to know others feel the same. You know, all these trailer loads and a couple of sales, it still doesn't seem to have put a dint in the overflowing bedrooms. Guess it will show eventually - just gotta keep going. Have you tackled a corner this week?

Thanks @ Darcy, good to see you 🌞 and read about your Spring Cleaning successes, even getting MrDarcy onboard 👍 💜💕

Hiya @1stepup61, how might you be? Hows your kitchen coming on? Thanks for the encouragement (don't have much to offer myself with feeling sick atm). Its hard for me to encourage myself, efforts never seem good enough or something, i too often beat myself up, get discourage & crash on the couch, for... way too long, but I'm slowly learning, becoming aware of underlying beliefs & related broken record self talk... and trying to be my best friend more - still need reminding though, thanks :ok_hand:🌷🌿 You've been quiet, are you OK?

Hiya @ soul sister, how are ya? What a lovely post - thank you for acknowledging the pain etc Guess these GriefWaves will always come, some bigger than others, but yes - they say the pain is a measure of our love (actually, is that even relevant? how much we did or didnt love? lol I remember in counselling once I snapped back at that comment: "yeah well, my love wasn't enough to keep her here" I growled, poor psychologist 😱 Guess I was in the 'anger' phase of the grief process then. So related to your seeing someone out shopping that strongly reminded you of your dad 😞☺😞 Maybe its the way our heart&mind work together in keeping them here with us. The longing of grief finds a way. I want to smile to recall the good, but its the twoedged sword - the other side hurts at the same time. Thanks for connecting with me on this though. Nice not to feel alone in grief 💕

My son rang last night all excited and talked for 1.5hrs (interesting ad only two weeks ago i felt mortified after he announced he'll be too busy for my phone chats for a while lol). He was so excited about x3 (not one, not two, but three) good happenings this day alone.
1. He's business cards arrived (evidence he's finally living his dream)
2. He went to a promising interview (they called him in)
3. His tax agent had promise of a generous tax rebate pending.
Yep, he thinks things are looking up & its restored hope. So good to hear him happy. He even said "despite all the things going wrong mum, and potentially facing homelessness for Christmas, this is the 'happiest' I've ever felt, and I think its because I'm finally doing what I always wanted to do"... ... Wow!!! Wow! Its like the best music to my internal mother's ear - to hear him so filled with hope - even in the face of unemployment and a broken arm. So glad I took his call last night - hesitated with this sore throat & cough. Maybe these are the moment for why I'm still here, for both of us 🙂

Betta go close the back door - the neighbours cat is pesring in the window. Sometimes I wonder if she actually misses Claypan Dog, and looking for him, she use to tease him something fierce lol Pets make me smile 🌞

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

Hi @Former-Member - list writing as procrastination - never thought of it that way - lol.

All this culling you are doing is making some difference. Keep chipping away at it - you'll get there. I'm washing my winter jackets and stuff to put away. We'll probably get a cold snap although today is supposed to be 34 degrees. Feels like it's on it's way. Have to share this pic with you as you mentioned Claypan and cats.

I was out walking this morning and the pooch sees a cat further up the footpath. She sprints there and then wonders where it has gone 😆😆😆😆🐶😹

Hope it made you laugh too.

Grief - it's a bummer. I often see the same sort of flowers that my Mum had in her garden when I am out walking. Occasionally I am very naughty and pick one carrying it with me. Your girl is not with you physically but she'll always be a part of you.

You must be very pleased for your son. Must have been a lovely conversation. So nice when the offspring are doing well and are happy.

Have a nice day. So very lovely to read your post this morning. Washing machine is calling me with its "I'm finished here" tune 🎵🎶

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

@1stepup61 LOL that bench is not mine - pic stolen off the internet - I have not taken any "before" photos of my problem areas. Yesterday I did not get one item moved, but today is a new day and a new opportunity - hope you get in your 15 minutes and a bag of stuff shifted. When is your next bin collection? Can you aim to have it full and ready to go?

@Former-Member hope you go ok this morning, yes it often seems an eternity before we see progress. I guess in one way it is like people who have a lot of weight to lose, it is hard to notice until a large chunk is gone (I speak for myself on that matter). Yes our @soul is a beautiful person, it took me a few years to be able to remember my dad with fondness without the ache that came from learning to adjust to life without him. Don;t think I can count on too much help from Mr Darcy, he rearranged one box of papers, not too much went into the toss out box and then I found he had put another bag of bits and pieces into a cupboard. Physically he is not doing so well and is very limited as to what he can do (having surgery mid October).

Part of the grief cycle is disorganisation, and as we progress through the grief cycle reorganisation occurs and perhaps for some of us this is played out in the clutter department, I am hoping that as I continue to come to terms with Mr D's diagnosis that we will be more organised.

@soul checking in on the rugs.

@utopia how is the table top coming along?

@Shaz51 hope the next shelf is taking shape (we don't want procrastination resulting in this project being shelved)

@Faith-and-Hope are there any problem areas in Melbourne that you could tackle while you are there?
